All the spooks and goblins are just about asleep but what a beautiful Halloween night it turned out to be. The weather was perfect tonight for all the little trick or treaters. I do have to share with you that I got 'booed' tonight. I wasn't sure what that meant until my daughter explained to me that it was a 'good thing' to get booed. Here is what was in the goodie bag left on my doorstep today. To whomever left it, THANK YOU!
It seems that more and more we are giving gift cards and money in lieu of presents around the holidays. I know my daughters have always preferred getting money and then going out after Christmas and having fun shopping for new things. I am always looking for cute cards to put their gift cards and money in. This was a card that one of my demonstrator friends had shown me this past summer and I decided that it would be a great project to do with my club members in November. I changed the dimensions slightly but I love how it really does look like a wallet. It's really easy to make as long as you get the scoring correct and use Sticky Strip to adhere all the pieces together. This is a card that actually would be great for any occasion -- birthday, Father's Day, Mother's Day, graduation (can't you just see a graduation hat in school colors on the front!).
Wallet Gift Card Directions
Dimensions for cardstock:: Close to Cocoa
Round corners of largest piece of cardstock (9” x 3-1/2”). Swipe Chocolate Chip ink pad across piece to give it a ‘leather’ look. Using paper-piercing tool and piercing mat, punch holes around 3 sides of front side of wallet. Connect holes with Close to Cocoa marker to give it a ‘stitched’ look. With sponge dauber, add Chocolate Chip ink around edges on front of card.
Open card and adhere smaller pieces on inside (Sticky Strip works best).
Stamp desired image onto Whisper Whitecardstock and layer onto Real Redcardstock. Adhere to front of ‘wallet.’
The more I use "Snow Swirled" (Item #111690) the more I like this stamp set. And it's a sure winner when paired with Holiday Treasure (Item #112469) designer paper. This is another card we'll be making during November. The ornaments on the tree are the Stampin' Up! micro beads which are adhered to the tree with glue dots. This is a super easy card to make. I used Whisper White, Old Olive and Riding Hood Red cardstock with the Holiday Treasures designer paper. I stamped snowflakes randomly with Old Olive ink. The tree was also stamped in Old Olive.
Fall is definitely in full swing and the weather proves it. It's getting down in the forty's at night and today the high was only in the mid-50's. And the Indiana fall foliage is at its' peak. We're expecting rain this weekend and then we'll probably see all the beautiful leaves drop. Ahh, raking leaves -- another sign of fall.
Fall also signals the time to work on all those Christmas cards. I've been busy working on the cards we'll be making at my November stamping parties and card clubs. My gingerbread man card is one that was a make & take at my New Catalog Open House in August but I changed it around a little. I think I like this one much better as I turned it into a 'money holder' card. I like making these as I tend to give more gift cards and money than I do presents during the holidays. This card is so yummy-looking, don't you agree?

I just had to post this darling gift bag one of my downline, Debbie, made for the holiday craft fair she is participating in. It's only one of the many cute projects she will have for sale. The Santa gift bag is made with the Big Shot and several punches from Stampin' Up! Isn't it just too cute!
I couldn't resist trying my hand at making these cute 'silly spiders' using the Stampin' Up! Scallop Circle Punch and the Photo Corners Punch. They make great little party favors when adhered to a Peppermint Patty candy and also are so cute on a fall card.
All my card clubs will be meeting this weekend for a fun time of stamping and creating 10 beautiful cards. We will be working on our holiday cards -- it's never too early to start making those Christmas cards! Here are the groups that will meet:

Below are the projects we will be working on this month. The projects use stamp sets from the Holiday Mini Catalog and the Fall Winter Idea Book & Catalog. We will also be using the Big Shot Top Note Bigz Die and the Birds & Bloom Die.

For my October Stamping Parties one of the make & takes we are doing is a little holiday Pillow Box using the Big Shot and the Pillow Box Bigz Die. For the best results, you will also need the Premium Crease Pad – it makes the creases in the pillow box so much better! This applies to ALL THE DIES WITH SCORE LINES, such the 5-point stat, petal card, the envelope die, and the 3-d circle ornaments. For my customers who have purchased the Premium Crease Pad or for those of you who are thinking about purchasing it, I thought it would be nice to have a tutorial on exactly how to use it.
STEP 1: Place BOTH the opaque plastic shim pieces from the Premium Crease Pad package on top of the clear Standard Cutting Pad.
STEP 3: Next place your cardstock on the die
STEP 4: Place the Premium Crease Pad on top of the cardstock. This is referred to as a “sandwich.”
STEP 5: Roll your "sandwich" through the Big Shot.
STEP 6: As you take the "sandwich" out of the Big Shot, and take the Crease Pad off, you'll see the die has cut the pillow box shape perfectly and made the crease/score lines!
