Forest Friends

Ouch, we're under construction -- again!  It seems like every spring my husband decides to 'update' some room in our house.  We've lived here 5 years and for all the money we've invested in updates each year we could have built a new house!  Anyway, this time we're renovating our masterbath.  It is 12 years old and has a jade green marble tub and counter-tops.  No offense to all you who love jade green, but while it was pretty in its day, it dates my bathroom.  So, today began the big mess of tearing out everything.  Ugh. 

Anyway, for a few days I won't be able to get much stamping done so I'm thankful for all my demonstrator friends who submitted photos of their work in order to be featured on my blog.  I want to keep posting so as to inspire you and bring out your own creativity (of course, feel free to CASE!).

Basic Jumbo Grommets -- how to use

I've had several of my customers ask how to use the Jumbo Grommets, item #114348 ($6.95) that are in the Occasions mini catalog.  I thought I'd post a pictorial tutorial explaining exactly how to set the grommets.  It's really so easy -- you just need a 1/2 inch Circle Punch and a Bone Folder.   These grommets will add some pizazz to your cards and scrapbook pages.  And, you can even add them over small, stamped images for an additional wow!

  

 

 

 

Thank You!

I wanted to thank everyone for all my beautiful birthday cards.  I thought I'd post a couple more that I received from my diva sisters, Jennifer and Janice.  We all belong to a wonderful group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators called the Utah Divas International, founded by a beautiful lady, Maxine Conrad. 

 

Happy birthday to me!

Ahhh, today is my birthday and my husband surprised me with a birthday cake.   Since I've been a little under the weather we're going to wait until the weekend to celebrate but still, a cake was nice.

I just received flowers from my daughter's family who live in Ohio.   She made a lucky guess as to where I'd be today and had them delivered to her sister's house where I'm watching the grandbabies today.  How fun to be greeted at 7:30 a.m. by a 4-year old wishing me a big 'Happy Birthday, Grandma!' as he popped out of bed!

I also wanted to share a cute card that I received from one of my UDI sisters, Lori W.    Thank you so much, Lori!

'A Wagon Full of Fun' Cards

I apologize for not posting for a few days but it seems I contacted a horrible bug that hit me extremely hard (laryngitis, cough, cold) and I'm still fighting it.  The only thing that seems to help is lots of bed rest and not using my vocal chords (no extra talking on the phone -- very hard for me!). 

I did want to share with you a swap I participated in.  It was difficult for me to choose just one stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog to use for my demonstrator swaps but I finally settled on 'A Wagon Full of Fun' as this is a stamp set that lends itself to many occasions and also to watercoloring.  Here are the cards I submitted for the swap group I'm in, along with a contest I entered.  I also used the 'Walk in the Park' designer series paper from the mini catalog.

 

     

Page Protector Gift Set

This weekend's club members made a great gift set using a 6 x 6 page protector for the main project.  I designed 4 cards, all using the Delicate Dots SAB designer  paper from last month's Sale-a-bration.  We used two of the stamp sets from the Occasions mini catalog, Oval All and Wagon Full of Fun.  This was a fun gift project that anyone would love to receive! 

This set easily accommodates 4 greeting cards and envelopes.  You could also adapt it for an 8-1/2 x 11 page protector or a 12 x 12 page protector.  Would't it be a fun gift to make at Christmas, using Christmas print paper and making some gift tags to include inside!

 

 

 

Scene in the Garden

Another great stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog is Scene in the Garden, Item #113246 (21.95).  This is another wonderful set if you like to watercolor and includes 7 stamps! This card was made by demonstrator Missy B for our shoebox swap and she turned it into a Mother's Day card. 

 

Soft Summer

Today's featured stamper is demonstrator Amy B.  For her swaps she chose Soft Summer, Item #113802 ($23.95) from the Occasions mini catalog.  This is a Two-Step Stampin' set of 6 and  if you want to achieve a watercolor look with ease, then this is the set for you!

 

 

 

Don't judge a book by its cover!

I don't usually post items that are non-related to Stampin' Up!  However, you must see this video from 'Britain's Got Talent.'  The singer is truly amazing and listening to her is a very humbling experience.  There is an old saying, 'you can't judge a book by it's cover' and this is so true.  Please take a few minutes to view the video -- be sure to listen to the judges' comments.  Just click on Simon's picture to play.
