Baby Cards

As many of you know, I come from a VERY large family.  So, now that our daughters are growing up and getting married, it seems there's always someone pregnant.  My mom was looking through my card rack the other day and noticed that I didn't have many baby cards. 

So, I thought I'd make up a few simple baby cards since two of my nieces are expecting and one just had a new baby.  It also gave me a chance to use a retired set from my collection -- Buggies & Booties.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets that retired in 2007.

How funny -- I received my stamping club orders today and I wasn't expecting to see the new Stampin' Up! packaging.  Check it out!

And yes, it did cause excitement when it arrived!

Congratulations to the Indianapolis Colts

Okay, tomorrow I'll get back to posting more card samples on my blog but today I wanted to take a few minutes to congratulate the Indianapolis Colts on their big win today.  We're going to the Super Bowl!

Filling Up My Card Rack

Since I'm in-between stamping classes and workshops, I decided today would be a good day to work on filling up my card rack.  Nothing goes to waste in my stamping studio.  If I have extra packets left from my classes or my workshops, I'll make up cards using the extras and put them in my card rack for people to purchase.  I think my mom is my best customer when it comes to buying my cards! 

Today, because I had several extra packets from a wedding card we did earlier in the month, I decided to go ahead and work on some St. Patrick's Day cards using the packets.  I ended up using a retired stamp set called Pinch Proof.  This set had been in my basket of retired stamp sets that I was selling but I pulled it out since I didn't have anything else for St. Patrick's Day.   After using it today I've decided that I like it too much to put it back in my 'For Sale' basket of retired set and will hang onto it.

Perhaps one of these days I'll list all the retired sets I'm selling in case any of you would like to purchase one of them. 

Stamping Party with Fox & Friends

I had a great stamping party last night with my hostess Janna and her friends.  I meant to take photos of the gals who won the door prizes last night and of everyone stamping but we were having so much fun that I completely forget to grab my camera.  I did take a picture of my table before everyone came. 

 

 

 

 

One of the make & takes last night used the new clear-mounted stamp set Fox & Friends, from the Occasions mini catalog.    I LOVE this cute set of 7 darling animals.  Inspired by the Nursery Alphabet Décor Elements, these fun and furry animals are versatile enough to be used for just about any project, ranging from cards, to scrapbooks, to fun 3-D gifts. They are available in both wood-mount and clear-mount. 

 

This morning I decided to make up several different designs using my left over project packets to put into my card rack.  Don't you love stamping an image on the front of an envelope -- it lets the person receiving the card know there's something special inside!

My Stamping Weekend

What a great weekend I had with both my stamping groups.  I love my job as it allows me to meet new people who become my friends and we have a great time stamping together!  I must add that my family is terrific as every 3rd weekend my kitchen and great room are turned into stamping stations with tables everywhere to accommodate all my stampers.

Every month when we meet, I offer a door prize as my thank you for everyone giving up a few hours of their weekend to come stamp with me.  This month's door prize was a Stampin' Up! Simply Srappin' Kit which was won by Ruth C.  Congratulations, Ruth!

 

A Little Valentine

Since the next time my stamping classes meet it will be AFTER Valentines Day, I thought I'd better plan at least one Valentine card for this weekend's classes.  This one uses the Ever After stamp set.  I also used the Holiday Best, which is a Hostess Level 1 stamp set in the Stampin' Up! 2009/10 Idea Book & Catalog.   I love using the combination of  Whisper White, Real Red and Basic Black cardstock together.

Mini Milk Carton Treat Box

I really meant to get this posted earlier today but I've been so busy cleaning the house and getting everything set up for my two stamping classes this weekend (in-between babysitting for my two little grandchildren!) that this is the first time I've had to sit down and blog.  I really am looking forward to this month's classes.  I've already posted 4 of the projects we will be doing.  Here is another one -- it's a darling little Valentine treat box made with the new Sizzix Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die, item #117310, which can be found in the Occasions mini catalog.  It is just the right size to hold a handful of treats, it's also a snap to make!

A Well Scripted Wedding

Today's card that we will be making this week at class is definitely one of my favorites!  This beautiful wedding card uses several new items from the Occasions mini catalog.  The Whisper White card is embossed with the new Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder.  The dotted hearts were made with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.  They were then offset a little and layered on top of the card.
