More Regional Swaps

I am soooo excited.  My downline and I are in Louisville, Kentucky for the Stampin' Up! Regional Conference today.  It is sure to be a fantastic day of swapping, attending some great classes, listening to some awesome speakers, and of course stamping! 

Today I wanted to show you some photos of the 3D swaps I will be trading with demonstrators from all over the midwest.  I had so much fun making the swaps.  The little Post-It Note clipboards were made from the counter-top samples obtained from my local home improvement store.  I especially love the RSVP pens from Pental that I customized using various Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper.  And isn't the Santa just the cutest?  My downline Debbie N. showed me how to make him using various Stampin' Up! punches.

Louisville Regional Swaps

I've been working this week on finishing up my swaps for the Stampin' Up! Regional Conference which is this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky.  I'm so excited that it is within driving distance of Greenwood, Indiana.  Six of my downline and I are attending this weekend and we're all excited.  I so hope Shelli Gardner, co-founder of the company is at this conference.  I have had the opportunity to talk to her several times but it will be the first time my downline will get to meet her.  She is an amazing lady.

 

One of the fun things that demonstrators love to do at any Stampin' Up! event is to swap.  So, I've been busy designing and making card swaps and 3D swaps all week.  I thought it would be fun to show you some of what I've been working on.  I like to design 2 different cards so these are the cards I will be taking with me.  I can't wait to see what I'll be getting in return!

Tip of the Week: Stamping Sponges

We've been using sponges quite a bit in my classes lately to add a little dimension to our cards and everyone seems to love this little tip. 

I cut my Stampin' Up!  Stamping Sponges (101610) which come in a package of 3, into 8 wedges. This then gives me 24 little sponges!  If I want to use Real Red ink to sponge around a project, I will punch a tab from Real Red card stock using the Round Tab Punch (119864), fold it in half and staple it to the sponge wedge. 

If you have a lable maker, you can then add the name of the color onto the tab.  It's an easy way to keep track of all your sponges!

Vintage Stocking Card

I love soft colors and a vinatage look.  So, that said, I think this was my favorite project we made at my Stampin' Up! stamp camp last weekend.  I think it's just a very soft, old look and this will probably be my Christmas card I send out for the holiday season.  This card showcases new items from the Holiday Mini:  the Stocking Builder Punch, the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper and The Sounding Joy stamp set.

NSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” Very Vanilla card stock (101650) in half.  Carefully emboss it with the Big Shot (113439) and the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (120902). 

2. Emboss a piece of 4” x 4” Very Vanilla card stock with the oval from the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (123130) the stamp "Joy" from The Sounding Joy (121979) stamp set over it with Soft Suede ink (115657).  Carefully tear the paper around the oval frame.  Adhere it to the front of the card.

3. Punch out two stockings from the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (124003) from the Holiday Mini, using the Stocking Builder Punch (124095).  Add a piece of 5/8” Victoria Crochet Trim (118481) to each stocking using the 2-Way Glue Pen (100425).  Adhere the stocking to the front of the card with Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals (104430).

Reindeer Treat

It seems we're always looking for cute little treats to surprise our little ones, or our co-workers with.  How about a visit from Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer?  We thought outside the box when making this darlingtreat at last weekend's Stampin' Up! stamp camp.  We used the Holiday Stocking Die from the Holiday Mini to turn the traditional stocking into a reindeer!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

With your Big Shot (113439) cut out the following pieces from the Bigz L Holiday  Stocking Die (124098):            

   * Two complete Chocolate Chip stockings (102128)

    * Two Real Red (102482) “noses”

    * Two Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper (122349) for “collar”

Also, with the Big Shot, cut out 1 piece Chocolate Chip from the Lattice Bigz Die (115958).  Carefully cut two strips from it to form the “antlers” for the reindeer.

Assemble your reindeer by adhering nose, antlers and ears onto each side.  Eyes were added by punching out Basic Black (121045) circles with the 3/4” Circle Punch (119873) and the Whisper White (100730) circle with the 1” Circle Punch (119868).  I added the little “flicker of light” with a White Gel Pen (105021).  To put it together, add adhesive along the entire stocking EXCEPT the ‘collar’ or top of stocking.  This will give an opening to add your Cellophane Bag (124134) filled with goodies.  After I filled the bag, I stapled it to the bottom of the reindeer.

The Frost is on the Pumpkin

This was the Thanksgiving card that we made at last weekend's stamp camps.  I wish you could see it up close and personal because the new Stampin' Up!  Dazzling Details (you can find it in the Holiday Mini) really adds sparkle to the wheat on the card.  Of course you could also use this card for a fall birthday or a get well card. 

 

INSTRUCTIONS 

1. Fold a 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of Old Olive card stock (100702) in half.  Set aside.

2. Cut Very Vanilla card stock (101650) 5-1/4” x 4” and emboss it in the Big Shot (113439) with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (121809).  Adhere to front of card.

 3. Using More Mustard ink (103163), stamp the wheat image from the Autumn Days (115452) stamp set at opposite corners, making sure to space them apart.  Add the maple leaf image using a  Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker (119678) to color the rubber.  

4. Punch out a pumpkin using the Big Shot and the Pumpkin #4 Sizzlits Die (113443).  Sponge the pumpkin around the edges using a sponge wedge and the More Mustard ink.  Add the pumpkin to the front of the card between the two wheat images. 

5. Add a Hemp Twine (100982) bow to the top of the pumpkin.  I used Stampin’ Up! Mini Glue Dots (103683) to attach the bow. 

6. Using a very thin piece of Old Olive card stock, wrap it around a pencil to curl it and then add it to the top of the pumpkin to look like a vine.

7. Stamp your sentiment.  I used the Happy Thanksgiving from the Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) stamp set.

Who Doesn't Love Presents?

Here is another cute but very simple card we made at my Stampin' Up! stamp camps this past weekend.  I cased this card from another talented person (wish I could remember which site I saw it on so I could give her credit!).  Isn't it amazing what you can do with cute paper and some punches?

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” Whisper White card stock (100730) in half.  Carefully     adhere a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock (119685) which has been punched using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch (122362) to the left side of the card.

2. Cut a 1-1/2” x 1-3/4” rectangle and punch out a square with the 1-1/4 Square Punch (119865) from Stampin’ Up! designer paper.  I used the Frostwood Lodge paper (124002) from the Holiday Mini for my card. 

3. Punch out two flowers from the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (122464) using a  coordinating color for your "presents."  Adhere to each package.  Using the same colors for each package, add a small strip of card stock down the front of each package.  Adhere “presents” to the front of the card.  Add a Rhinestone Jewel (119246) to each package for a little bling!

4. Stamp “Seasons Greetings” from the Many Merry Messages stamp set (116586) at the bottom of the card.
