Pocket Prayer Square Cards

If you saw my post from yesterday, then you got a sneek peak at the little tin of prayer cards that were pictured with my prayer shawl.  One of the other things our ministry makes are little knitted squares that have a cross in the center.  These are given to people who have lost someone or who are facing a trial in their life.  They are small so they can keep in their pockets to remind them that they are not alone and prayers are being said for them.

I decided to make up some little cards to include with the pocket squares.  The saying inside is:

 

This prayer square was lovingly made for you

To bring you comfort each day through.

As you carry it with you, know that we care,

And you’re lovingly surrounded by our prayers.

 

I love the stamp set that I used for the little cards.  It is from the Hand Knit (117012-wood, 120507-clear) stamp set in the Stampin' Up! 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog.  The set includes a little woolly lamb, a skein of yarn, and a pair of needles!

Knitted Prayer Shawl -- One of a Kind!

As many of you know, my good friend Carolyn H.  has been teaching me how to knit and in January I started a prayer shawl.  I am so excited as I finally finished it and will be turning it in at tomorrow evening's Prayer Shawl Meeting.  While I've been crocheting since I was 18, I found knitting to be much harder.  So, this is a very special prayer shawl as it is one of a kind--I doubt I will knit another!  I think I'm going back to crocheting because I could have finished two by the time I got this one done!  I did crochet the flowers on it and I also croched a scalloped edge around it.  When we make these shawls we do say prayers but I think this one might have had a few other words said, too!

Up in the Air

Have you had a chance to see the cute Hostess stamp set in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini catalog?  It can be yours when you hostess a qualifying party!  This card uses the 3-piece set which is called Up in the Air and you can choose either both wood or clear (also French or Spanish).  The card also used the new Hat Pins (125578) from the Occasions Mini.

Inspired by Nature Card

I have a group of very talented demonstrators and I love sharing their work. Today I am featuring a card made by Renee Z.  She used one of my favorite stamp sets, Inspired by Nature (111656) and the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper (121878).  I am going to be so sad when this paper retires.  Hopefully the stamp set will be around for awhile.  Renee also used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (118138) to add texture and color to her card.
