"Bootiful Occasions" Card Swaps

 

Tomorrow is our local Stampin' Up! Training Day at the Old Spahetti Factory in downtown Indianapolis and I am so looking forward to it.  It is always so much fun to get together with other demonstrators.  I've been busy working on my swaps -- I don't think demonstrators can attend any event without wanting to swap!  I used the Bootiful Occasions (126595-wood, 126597-clear) stamp set from the 2012-13 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, along with the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper (126906) from the Holiday Mini.

 

I also just finished up the door prize I will be contributing and for this I embellished a notebook and mathing RSVP pen.  I used the Natural Composition Specialty Paper (126917) for both, along with an image from the From the Heart (126555-wood, 126557-clear) stamp set.

Yummy Honey Peanut Butter Cookies

Today instead of posting a card I thought I would post a yummy cookie recipe that one of my downline made and brought to my last Stamp Camp.  The cookies were a huge hit and everyone wanted the recipe.  I'm not much of a peanut butter fan, but I must admit that these were the best cookies I've ever eaten!  Thank you Debbie W. for sharing your wonderful recipe!

 

HONEY PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ CUP BROWN SUGAR

¾ CUP WHITE SUGAR

1 ½ CUP BUTTER

1 ½ CUP CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER

½ CUP HONEY

1 ½ TSP. VANILLA

3 EGGS

3 ¾ CUP FLOUR

1 ½ TSP. BAKING SODA

1 TSP SALT

 

DIRECTIONS:

CREAM SUGARS WITH BUTTER

BLEND IN PEANUT BUTTER, HONEY, VANILLA, AND EGGS

MIX DRY INGREDIENTS AND ADD TO BUTTER MIXTURE

DROP COOKIES 2” APART ON A GREASED COOKIE SHEET

BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 9-10 MINUTES

DRIZZLE WITH GLAZE

 

GLAZE:

1/3 CUP PEANUT BUTTER

¼ CUP HOT WATER

3 TBS. HONEY

1 ½ CUP POWERED SUGAR

 

DIRECTIONS:

MIX PEANUT BUTTER, HONEY, AND HOT WATER.

ADD POWERED SUGAR AND DRIZZLE OVER COOKIES   (GLAZE WILL SET)

The recipe says to drizzle the glaze, but when Debbie made them she just put a dollip of the glaze in the middle.  If you do this instead of drizzling, you will need to double the glaze.  This receipe makes a lot of cookies and they  freeze well.

Autumn Accents

 

With summer winding down and autumn just around the corner, I wanted to show a cute fall card.  This was designed by my friend and fellow demonstrator Diana S.   I'm just guessing how she made her card but I think she used the negative from the Autumn Accents Bigz Die (127812) and sponged several colors onto Whisper White card stock.  She also used the Woodgrain Textured Immpressions Embossing Folder (127821) for her background.

I wanted to start the week out by sharing a video from Stampin' Up! using the My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2) software program.  I am a huge fan of the program and love creating my digital scrapbooks using it.  There is so much you can do with MDS2 to make the project uniquely yours!  Today's video shows you how to fill in your punch shape with card stock.  This is something I use all the time for my text!

Today's cute card is from fellow demonstrator Diana S., from Cumberland.  Diana used the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (#126908) from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini to make her flower.  She also used the 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch (#127811) for the center of her flower.  To finish off her card, Diana added the Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (#126848) which is one of the spools of ribbon that can be yours FREE with a $40 order!

Word Play & Papillon Potpourri Stamp Sets

I am so excited to share today's card with you.  This beautiful card was made by fellow demonstrator Missy B. from Nashville.  Missy actually cased this card from Aimee C. who is from Churubusco.  Aimee's card published in the August issue of Stampin' Connection which is our Stampin' Up!  demonstrator monthly magazine.  I love this particular technique which uses a light spritzing of water and ink-refills to give a beautiful muted rainbow of color.  I plan to teach this technique at one of my classes soon.

Layered Labels

Today is a very special day for me--it is my 26th wedding anniversary.  It seems like just yesterday I married my best friend!  I made him a special card to mark our anniversary and let him know that the sentiment inside is 'heartfelt.'

I used the Layered Labels (#127070-wood, #127072-clear) stamp set along with the Apothecary Accents Framelits (#127003) to cut out the image.  I also used the Cherry Cobbler 3-1/2 Scalloped Tulle Ribbon (#127841) around the image and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
