The card featured above was using another of the Bleaching Techniques taught at last month's Technique Tuesday Class.  This was the direct-to-paper bleaching techique.  For each technique, class members made the full-size card, along with an ATC-size card with the technique typed on the back.

Fluttery Swallowtail

I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing and using the Swallowtail stamp set.  It was also introduced to us in the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog and has carried over into the Stampin' Up! 2013-14 Annual Catalog.  This beautiful card was designed by my upline (meaning I am signed up under her) Susan Smith.  Susan used the White Vellum (101856) card stock to stamp her butterfly, carefully embossing and cutting it out.  She then colored it with her Stampin' Write Markers and adhered it onto her embossed card.  The butterfly looks like it could just flutter off the card!.

Today's featured card is a card from our local Stampin' Up! Training Day  held this spring at the Old Spaghetti Factory.   There is always a lot of card swapping going on and this is just one of the swaps.  If you look closely you can see the card has been embossed using the new Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder (129376) and the birds from the Hostess Morning Meadow stamp set have been stamped in all the new In Colors -- Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Strawberry Slush.  Makes your mouth water just saying those colors, doesn't it?

Watercolor Bird Nature Card

 

Here is another card we made at my June stamp camp using re-inkers and Aqua Painters to watercolor.  For this card we again used the Simply Sketched stamp set which is a hostess exclusive.  If you would like to have this set, contact me at stamping@karenhaden.com to find out how you can get it free! 

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Fold a piece of  11” x 4-1/4” Soft Suede (115318) card stock in half for card. 

2.  Cut two pieces of 5-1/4 x 4”  Very Vanilla (101650)  card stock.  Adhere one piece inside the card and the other to the front of the card.

3.  Adhere a 4-1/2 x 1-3/4” piece of  Gingham Garden (129310) Designer Series Paper to the left side of the card.  At the bottom on the right side stamp "With heartfelt Sympathy" from the hostess set Simply Sketched (129669-wood, 129672-clear) in Soft Suede (126978) ink. 

4.  On a piece of 3-1/4” x 2” Very Vanilla card stock, stamp the bird image in Jet Black Stazon (101406) ink.  Color the bird using Soft Suede (131159), Wild Wasabi (109020) and Sahara Sand (105220) re-inkers and an Aqua Painter ( 103954).  Adhere it to a 3-1/2” x 2-1/4” piece of Soft Suede card stock.  Tie a piece of hemp twine around the piece and add it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).  Adhere to the front of the card.
