I am lucky to have some very talented demonstrators in my group of Inky Images and I love to showcase their work.  Today's card is from Debbie Newman (Martinsville).  Debbie was my first recruit and will soon be celebrating her 9-year anniversary with Stampin' Up!   I love this card she made using the Gorgeous Grunge (130514-wood, 130517-clear) stamp set and the Work of Art (134111-wood, 134114-clear) stamp set.

Bite Me Halloween Card

 

 It is so hard to believe that we are half-way through September and before long the leaves on the trees here in Indiana will start to turn.  We had an unusually cool summer so it will be interesting to see what the fall will bring.  One thing is for certain:  Halloween will be here before you know it and the little trick or treaters will soon be ringing the doorbell!

Today's card features the photopolymer stamp set Bite Me (134622) and the  Sweet Sadie (133690) Washi Tape.  If you would like to order any of the items used to make this card, just visit my Stampin' Up! Online Store today and click on the "Shop Now"  button.

 

Instructions

1. Fold an 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Whisper White (100730) cardstock in half for the card.

2. Emboss a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Basic Black (121045) cardstock with the Decorative Dots (133520) Embossing Folder and adhere to the front of the card.

3. Stamp a piece of 3-1/2” x 4-3/4” of Whisper White cardstock with the spider web and the spiders from the Bite Me (134622) stamp set in Basic Gray (126981).  Using a Sponge Dauber (133773),  sponge Tangelo Twist (133646) ink around the edges of the  piece.  Add the black tape from the Sweet Sadie (133690) Washi Tape around the stamped piece and adhere to the front of the card.

4. Stamp the black cat and cut out.   Adhere to front of card with a Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

Birthday Locomotive Card

 

I really am trying to make more "manly" cards and not as many flowery cards at my stamp camps.  Afterall, we do have fathers, husbands, and/or sons who would rather not get a "girly" card on their birthdays!  Today's card uses the Traveler stamp set which is really one of my favorites!

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold an 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”  Early Espresso (119686) cardstock in half for the card.

2. Adhere a 4” x 3” piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper (133704) to the top of a piece of 5-1/4” x 4”  Very Vanilla  (101650) cardstock.  Stamp “happy birthday” from the And Many More (134273-wood,  clear-134276) stamp set on the bottom in Early Espresso (126974) ink.  Adhere this piece to the front of the card.

3. Emboss a piece of 5” x 1-1/4” Crumb Cake (1120953) cardstock with the Woodgrain (127821) Embossing Folder.  With a square punch, punch one end to form a banner.  Wrap a piece of Metallic Silver Baker’s Twine (132976) around the banner and adhere to front of card.

4. Stamp the locomotive from the Traveler (134510-wood, 134513-clear) stamp set on a 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in Early Espresso ink.  Layer it onto a 3 x 3” piece of Early Espresso cardstock and add a jumbo brad to the bottom corner of the image.  Adhere to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

Techniques Tuesday: White Washing

What do you think of when your hear the term "white washing?"  I think of Tom Sayer and Huckleberry Finn!  What's funny is so did my stampers when I told them I would be teaching them the White Washing Technique!   It's a very simple technique using watered down White Craft Ink on an embossed line image.

INSRUCTIONS

Step 1:  Emboss—Stamp the line images in VersaMark, then embossed with White Embossing Powder. 

Step 2: White Wash—Add a little White Craft Ink Refill onto a plastic palette & thin with a few drops of water from an Aqua Painter.  Use the Aqua Painter to paint a thin layer of White Craft Ink over the top of embossed image.  Let dry completely. 

Step 3: Color—Use Blender Pens to pick up the ink from lid of ink pad to color in the image

Step 5:  Embellish and complete card.

Kinda Eclectic - A One Of A Kind!

Kinda Eclectic was one of those stamp sets that when I saw it in the new 2014-15 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, I can't say it really "spoke" to me.  It wasn't until I started seeing creations made by other demonstrators that I fell in love with it.  This is one of the cards we made using this stamp set at my recent monthly Stamp Camp.  If you would like to order any of the items used to make this card, just visit my Stampin' Up! INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold an 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Whisper White (100730) cardstock in half for the card.  Card will be landscape.

2. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Bermuda Bay (131197) cardstock to the front of the card.

3. Stamp a piece of  4-3/4” x 3-1/2” Whisper White cardstock with the sunburst from the Kinda Eclectic ( 135347-wood, 135350-clear) stamp set in Calypso Coral (122939) ink.  NOTE:  You will need to mask off the top half of the stamp so you only get 1/2 the image on your card.

4. Stamp the strip of dots in Bermuda Bay (131171) ink just above the sunburst.

5. Stamp the butterfly image in Night of Navy (126970)  and the leaves in Always Artichoke (126972). 

6. Add a piece of the blue tape from the Beach House (133689) Washi Tape across the bottom of the stamped cardstock.  Adhere to the front of the card.

7. For a little extra bling, add two Pearl Basic Jewels (119247) to the butterfly. 

8. To finish card, stamp a leaf inside the card and on your envelope.

Grab Your Broom!

It is now September and I have noticed that, while we are still weeks away from Halloween, stores are filled with costumes and treats for that spooky day!  I thought it was only fitting to start designing some cute cards for this fun holiday.  

This card again uses the Bootiful Occasions (131967-wood, 126597-clear) stamp set along with the Fringe Scissors (133325) for a very dimensional card.  To order the supplies to duplicate this card, just visit my Stampin' Up! Online Store today and click on the "Shop Now"  button!

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold an 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Whisper White (100730) cardstock in half for the card.

2. Emboss a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Basic Black (121045) cardstock with the Alphabet Press (130916) Embossing Folder and adhere to the front of the card.

3. Fringe the bottom of a piece of 4” x 2” Glimmer Paper (135314) using the Fringe Scissors (133325) and adhere to front of card.

4. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the “Grab your broom” image from the Bootiful  Occasions Stamp Set (131967-wood, 126597-clear) in Basic Gray (126981) ink.  With a Tangelo Tango Marker, color in the circles on the shoe.  Adhere a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper to the band of the shoe.

5. Cut out the stamped piece and a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper (133704) with the Circles Collection Framelits (130911) and the Big Shot.  You will only use half the Typeset circle.  Adhere pieces together, offsetting them just a little.

6. Cut from a brown paper a piece of 8” x 1-3/4” strip; add a piece of  adhesive to edge of strip and fold in half.  Using the Fringe Scissors, cut along the folded edge.  Using 1/2 of a skewer, add a glue dot to one side of fringed paper and start rolling it around the skewer making  broom. 

7. Punch a hole in the tag and thread ribbon through it and attach to the broom.  Adhere to the front of the card.

Technique Tuesday: Stamping In Motion

 

It is time for another technique!  Today's technique is really super easy but will make a big statement on your cards or scrapbook pages!  This is one of the techniques I taught at last week's Techniques Tuesday Class called Stamping in Motion.   While we used the Motorcycle (retired) stamp, any image such as a train, car, tractor, plane, ship, etc. would work.

INSTRUCTONS:  Stamping In Motion Technique

Step 1:  Select an image that "moves" in real life such as a ship, train, motorcycle, car, bird, etc

Step 2:  Ink up stamp and stamp onto cardstock

Step 3:  Without re-inking continue to stamp repeatedly away from the first image. 

Step 4:  Embellish and complete card.
