Traveler World Map

 

I know many of you have probably just returned from your fall break travels so I thought this card swap was appropriate to post today (it would also make a cute scrapbook page!).  The swap uses the Travel stamp set and the World Map background stamp.  (Note: I'm sorry I can't give credit to the demonstrator who made this swap but she forgot to sign the back.)

Technique Tuesday: Mosaic Technique

 

It's time for another Techniques Tuesday and today's technique is called the Mosaic Technique.   It is very easy and the trick is to make sure your stamped image is on a piece of either Whisper White or Very Vanilla cardstock that is at least 1/4" smaller than the darker piece you want to mount it on.  After you stamp the image, you will cut it into "puzzle" pieces and then glue them back together leaving a space between each piece.  

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1:  Cut white/very vanilla cardstock at least 1/4” smaller than piece you will use to mount it on.

Step 2:  Stamp image on Whisper White/Very Vanilla  card stock.  Color Image.

Step 3:  Carefully cut stamped piece of cardstock randomly into smaller pieces.

Step 4:  Reposition cut up image onto colored cardstock of your choice.

Step 5:  Finish card.

Banner Fold Thank You Card

Today's tutorial is another sample from my recent Fall Fun Folds  class and showcases several Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, the Banners Framelits Dies and the Labels Collection Framelits Dies.  If you want a fast and easy card with a different kind of fold to make, I'm sure you'll love this one.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut Cajun Craze (119684) cardstock to measure 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” and emboss with the Filigree Frame (135818) Embossing Folder. 

2. Cut a piece of Old Olive (100702) cardstock lengthwise to measure 11” x 4-1/4”.  Fold in half and line up with the 2nd largest Banners Framelits (132173), making sure to place the framelits UNDER the fold so as not to cut the cardstock into 2 pieces.  Emboss the front of the banner with the Tiny Triangles (133740) Embossing Folder.   Adhere to the Cajun Craze cardstock.

3. Cut out a piece of  Very Vanilla  (101650) cardstock with the 3rd largest Banners Framelits and add a piece of Washi Tape towards the bottom.  Stamp “Your Kindness Means So Much” from the From the Heart (132007-wood, 126557-clear) stamp set in Chocolate Chip (126979) ink. 

4. Stamp a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the “Thank You from the Bottom of My Heart” from the same stamp set using the Labels Collection Framelits (125598).  Adhere to the front of the banner. 

5. Add a button to the bottom of the banner.

Color Me Autumn Z-Fold Card

Today's tutorial is for a Z-Fold card and I wanted to feature the very pretty "Color Me Autumn" Designer Series Paper and Color Me Autumn Washi Tape.  I also wanted to feature the For All Things stamp set.  All three of these items can be found in the 2014 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog  and can be ordered by visiting my Stampin' Up! Website today and clicking on the "Shop Now"  button.  While there, don't forget to check out the latest Stampin' Up!   promotions!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut Cajun Craze (119684) cardstock lengthwise to measure 11” x 4-1/4”.  Score at 1-1/2” —  5-1/2” — 8-1/4”  Fold back and forth for a zig-zag.  NOTE:  The 1-1/4” section is the very back of the card.

2. Emboss a piece of 4” x 3-3/4” Very Vanilla  (101650) cardstock with the Fancy Fan (127751) Embossing Folder.  Sponge around the edges with Cajun Craze (126965) ink.  Adhere to the 4” x 4-1/4” section of card.

3. Stamp a piece of 4” x 1-1/4” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with “hello FALL!” from the For All Things (135152-wood, 135155-clear) stamp set in Crumb Cake (126975) ink.  Adhere to a piece of   4” x 1-1/2” Old Olive (100702) cardstock; adhere to the 4” x 3-3/4” piece of Embossed piece of Very Vanilla with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).

4. Adhere 4” x 2-1/2” Color Me Autumn (135820) Designer Series Paper to the front of your card.

5. Adhere a strip of Color Me Autumn Washi Tape (135842) on a piece of 4” x 3” Very Vanilla cardstock.  Layer it on a piece of 3-1/4” x 4-1/4” Cajun Craze cardstock and adhere on the front of the card being careful to only add adhesive to the bottom of the layers piece.

6. Using the Scallop Trim Border Punch (retired), punch around all sides of a piece of 3” x 3” Cajun Craze cardstock.  Set aside.

7. Stamp the bundle of leaves image from the For All Things stamp set on piece of 2-1/4” x 2-1/4” Very Vanilla cardstock using Old Olive (126953) ink.  Ink up entire piece with VersaMark (102283) and heat emboss with Iridescent Ice (101930) Embossing Powder.  Adhere to the 3” x 3” Cajun Craze piece and add to front of card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

8. Don’t forget to stamp your envelope!

Technique Tuesday: Straw Technique

 

Today's technique features the "Straw" Technique.  If you want to have a lot of laughs this is the technique for you -- it was one of the techniques I taught last month at my Techniques Tuesday  classes.  It was so much fun and no twowere alike when we finished!  This would be a fun technique to do with your kids!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1:  On a piece of Glossy cardstock or photo paper, add several drops of a light color re-inker and blow on the colors through a straw.

Step 2:  Add drops of another color of re-inker and repeat step one.

Step 3:  With a 3rd color of re-inker, repeat step 1. 

Step 4:   Add several drops of a 4th color and smear over entire piece with the straw.   Spritz with rubbing alcohol and then wipe with tissue.

Step 5:  Let dry then stamp image in Black Stazon,

Sneak Peek At Next Weekend's Stamp Camp Projects

Curvy Critters

 

 I am one of those people that "seeing is believing" and I have to admit that when I first saw the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies (135853) in the 2014 Stampin' Up!
