Remember life before "perma press" clothing? Remember when you had to get out the iron and ironing board to get rid of the wrinkles? Most of us no longer have any use for these tools but I was excited when I came across a technique that uses both! It is called the Wax Paper Resist Technique and is very easy and fun to do. When I taught it last month at my monthly Techniques Tuesday Class, we used only one color for our background. However, it would be fun to experiment with two or three colors for this technique!
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: On wax paper slightly larger than your glossy cardstock, crinkle it up, then smooth it back out.
Step 2: Sandwich wax paper between 2 pieces of glossy cardstock, with glossy sides facing wax paper, both top & bottom.
Step 3: Iron over paper “sandwich” \without steam. Take pieces apart and throw wax paper away.
Step 4: Brayer or sponge over your cardstock with classic ink, covering entire piece of card stock.
Step 5: Wipe over cardstock with paper towel. The ink will resist wherever the wax from the paper adhered to the cardstock.
Step 6: Finish card.
