Springtime Sheltering Tree

One of the prettiest stamp sets in the Stampin' Up!  Occasions Catalog has to be the Sheltering Trees (137163-Photopolymer) stamp set.  I know it is one of my favorite!  With this 14-piece set you can create your own friendship-scape card with flowers, bikes, and trees. These Two-Step stamps give you so many creative options--combine individual stamps to build the final image you want in the colors you want.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a  piece of 8-1/2” x 5” Soft Suede (115318) card stock  in half.  Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Blushing Bride (131198)  card stock to front of card.  Adhere a piece of 5” x 3-3/4” Whisper White (100730) card stock inside of card.

2. Ink up the  “leaves” from the Sheltering Trees (137163) Photopolymer stamp set in Pink Pirouette (126956) Classic Ink.  With a  Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker (retired) or any darker pink marker randomly add a few dots of color to the image, then stamp image onto a 5” x 3-3/4” piece of Whisper White cardstock. 

3. Ink up the “tree trunk” with Soft Suede (126978) Classic Ink and stamp .

4. Ink up the little “dots” image with Wild Wasabi (126959) Classic Ink and stamp lightly in a few areas on tree.

5. Stamp “thinking of you” in Wild Wasabi under tree.  Adhere to front of card.

6. Tie a bow with Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine (134578) and add to tree using a Glue Dot (103683).

Hot Diggity Dog

 

We often get so excited about all the new things in the Occasions Catalog, we forget there are some darling stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  Today I thought I would show you a cute card we made at my February stamp camps  using Hot Diggity Dog (134021-wood, 134024-clear) stamp set from the 2014-15 Annual Catalog.  This stamp set has three cute bodies, four canine heads, and lots of furry puns. This 14-piece set is definitely perfect for the dog lover in your life.  Without it, life is just ruff.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of  8-1/2” x 5-1/2 ”  Basic Black (121045) card stock in half.  Tie a piece of  Whisper White Baker’s Twine (124262) around the card.

2. Add a piece of 2” x 6-1/2” Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack (137779) to front of card.

3. Using the  Circles Collection Framelits (130911) cut out a Blushing Bride (131198),  Basic Black and Smokey Slate (131202) circles in various sizes.  Cut each circle in half.  These will be the ‘bodies’ of the dogs.

4. Stamp a piece of Whisper White (100730) card stock with the dog heads from the Hot Diggity Dog (134021-wood, 134024) stamp set in Blushing Bride (131172), Basic Gray (126981) and Smokey Slate (131179) ink.  Cut out each head and adhere to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).

5. Stamp a piece of 4” x 5-1/4”  Whisper White card stock with the “never underestimate the warmth of a cold nose.”

Birthday Balloons Card

 

 

My husband and I have been busy the last 4 days painting our great room.  What a monumental undertaking this was!  The huge vaulted ceilings and high walls took forever to paint.  We had to rent scaffolding for the high work and the stairs took several ladders and boards rigged up to get my husband up high enough to reach the very top.  Needless to say, it was a scary experience -- one that I hope we don't have to ever do again!

Now the last thing to do is to put up a new fan at the very top.  My stampers (and myself) have been asking for lights on the fan for years and looks like we are going to get our wish!  We should be finished this afternoon and can take the scaffolding down.  Tomorrow I plan to shampoo the carpet and wax my hardwood floors and then we'll take a break before we tackle the kitchen.

So, while I wait for my husband to ask for my help today, I thought I'd update my blog with a new tutorial.  This card features the Celebrate Today (137138) stamp set with the Balloon Framelits Dies (137362).  These items can be purchased separately or you can buy the bundle and save 15% -- just use Item #138869.

 

 INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of 8-1/5” x 5-1/2”  Whisper White (100730) cardstock in half. 

2. Emboss a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Pool Party (122924) cardstock with the Decorative Dots  (133520) Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Set aside.

3. Cut a  5-1/4” x 4” piece of FREE Sale-a-bration Best Year Ever (138633 ) Designer Series Paper that has been cut diagonally to make a triangle.  Adhere to front of card.

4. Stamp a piece of 4-1/4”  x 2-1/4”  Whisper White cardstock with the Happy and the birthday images from the Celebrate Today (137138-Photopolymer) stamp set in Early Espresso (126974) Classic Ink.  Adhere to front of card overlapping at the bottom.   With scissors, snip off the overhanging edges.

5. Cut out a Pool Party and a Coastal Cabana (131297) balloon with the Balloon Framelits Dies (137362).  Stamp the polka dots from the Celebrate Today (137138-Photopolymer) stamp set in VersaMark (102283) and adhere balloons to front of card.  Cut out the banner from designer paper.

6. With Glue Dots (103683), add Pool Party Baker’s Twine (134568) to each balloon.  Cut out a bow from designer paper with the Balloon Framelits Dies.
