A Whole Lot of Lovely Thank You Card

 

Today's card features A Whole Lot of Lovely hostess stamp set.  I love this 4 piece set.  The set is sized to fit the Stampin' Up! punches for easy cutting.  We made this card, inspired by Becky Cowley, at my July stamp camps.   It is a very easy card to make but it is a beautiful way to say thank you!

 

You, too, can share a whole lot of lovely thoughts to thank someone for an act of kindness or just for being fabulous.  However, this is an exclusive stamp set for hostesses, so contact me at stamping@karenhaden.com to see how you can own this set!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of  8-1/2” x 5-1/2”  Whisper White card stock in half.

2. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4”  Watermelon Wonder card stock to the front of the card.

3. Ink up the image from the Work of Art stamp set with the new Delightful Dijon and Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers and stamp a piece of 5” x 3-3/4” Whisper White card stock.  Re-ink the image again and stamp a second 'blotch.’  Adhere a 5” x 1/4” strip of Gold Glimmer Paper to the left side of card front.  Adhere stamped pieced to the front of the card. 

4. Stamp a piece of Whisper White card stock with the “thank you” image from the A Whole Lot of Lovely hostess stamp set  using the Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon and Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers.  Punch the image out using the 2-1/2” Circle Punch. 

5. Cut three pieces of Gold Baker’s Twine and adhere in over-lapping loops to the circle image.  Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Technique Tuesday: Markers-to-Block Technique

Recently at my Techniques Tuesday class, I taught how to color on acrylic blocks, then mist the blocks and stamp a background.  This technique is so easy to do, and you will get a slightly different background each time.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1:  Scribble Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow markers on an Acrylic Block.  The size of the block will depend on the how big you want your background to be.

Step 2:  Hold the block at full arm's length and spritz it once or twice with fine mist of water & stamp block onto Whisper White card stock.

Step 3:  Use heat tool to dry card stock and stamp the tree from the Sheltering Tree stamp set with Black Memento Ink. 

Step 4:  Finish Card

Stamping Tip: When adding colors of markers to block, think about how you want it to look when stamped.

Just Kidding Birthday Card

 

If you are like me and love the "Maxine" type cards, you will love the Just Kidding Photopolymer stamp set.  This funny 15-piece set is just what you need for laughs that will last.  It's so versatile, you'll find yourself using it over and over again. The recommended clear block sizes are D, G (not included in the set).

Today's card was inspired by Sandy Mott.  We had fun making if at my July stamp camps and everyone had someone they wanted to send it to!  If you would like to order this set, CLICK HERE!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of  8-1/2” x 5-1/2”  Blackberry Bliss card stock in half.

2. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Very Vanilla card stock to the front of the card.  Add two trips of Bohemian Designer Series Paper to the front of the card.

3. Stamp a piece of 2-1/2” x 2-1/2”  Very Vanilla card stock with the image from the Just Kidding Photopolymer stamp set with the  Memento Ink and color image.  Adhere stamped image to a 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” piece of  Bohemian Designer Series Paper.  Adhere to front of card.

4. Add a few Candy Dots to the front of the card.

5. Stamp a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Very Vanilla card stock to the inside of card and stamp with sentiment.

Techniques Tuesday: Bokeh Technique

 

It's Technique Tuesday and I have a really neat technique for you today, It is called the Bokeh Technique and while it takes a little practice, the effect is very pretty.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1:  Sponge colors of choice onto Whisper White cardstock.

Step 2:  Punch two or three different size circles from a Window Sheet.

Step 3:  Using a sponge or dauber, apply White Craft ink through the  circle mask.  You may have to do this several times as the white tends to dry translucent.  You may use a heat gun to speed up this process.

Step 4:  Complete your card.

Sweet Watermelon

When I think about the hot days of summer, I also think of slices of cool, juicy watermelon!  Today's card is my take on a watermelon!  We made it at my July stamp camp and the gals loved it!  It's quick and easy and uses the Stampin' Up!  Work of Art stamp set.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Fold a piece of  8-1/2” x 5-1/2”  Melon Mambo card stock in half.

2. Stamp a piece of 5-1/4” x 4”  Whisper White card stock with the images from the Work of Art stamp set with the  Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz Classic Inks to form a watermelon in the center of the card.. 

3. With the stamp punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, cut out some Basic Black hearts and cut in half and trim to look like seeds.  Adhere to the watermelon. 

4. Adhere a piece of  Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine around the top of the stamped piece.  Stamp the bottom with “sweet, sweet moments” from the Happy Day (retired) stamp set.

5. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4”  Whisper White card stock  to the inside of card.
