Tutorial: Cat On The Moon Card

 

 

Sometimes a basic punch can be a girl's best friend.  I find I often turn to my punches when designing a card as they are fast, simple tools to use.  Today's card uses the new Cat Punch from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2 Thick Whisper White card stock at 4-1/4”
2. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” any black & white Designer Series Paper to the front of the card.
3. Emboss a 5” x 3-3/4” piece of Basic Black card stock using the Garden Trellis Textured Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the front of the card.
4. Cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper. Add 1/2 a Delicate White Doily behind the circle and adhere both to the front of the card.
5. Punch out a Basic Black cat using the Cat Punch. Adhere to the bottom of the circle using Stampin Dimensionals.
6. Adhere a bow made from the White Baker’s Twine to the top of the card.

Christmas Tags Door Prize

This coming weekend is my Christmas Card Class and I made a pretty box of Christmas tags as my door prize.  I used the new Acetate Boxes and the Father Christmas Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! for my door prize.  I love the acetate boxes -- you can use them for so many wonderful things.  They are in the current Holiday Catalog but I hope they will be a staple in next year's new Annual Catalog.  Be sure to visit my Stampin' Up! Christmas Card Class

If you live near the Greenwood or Indianapolis area and would like to get a jump on your holiday card-making, please plan to attend my Holiday Card Class.  Classes will be held on

Pocketful of Sunshine Favor

As a bonus project at my recent October Stamp Camp, I made these cute little pocket favors using the Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle for all my class attendees.  Inside I tucked the instructions so my stampers could make them at home. 

These favors would be great to hold some tasty treats or maybe a little 3" x 3" card and gift certificate.  Depending on whether you wanted it for a birthday, or a special holiday such as Christmas or Valentine's day, you would just need to use the appropriate Designer Series Paper.

Tutorial: Witches Brew Treat Bag

Witches, monsters, and ghosts...it's that time of year again!  And, to get ready for Halloween, here is a fun treat bag that your friends will surely enjoy receiving.  And if they are not coffee drinkers, you can always add a packet of lemonade or punch to the tag!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using just the small piece of the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, cut 2 pieces of your choice of Designer Series Paper. Adhere sides and bottom with Sticky Strip
2. Cut out a Whisper White circle using the Layering Circle Framelits and adhere a Delicate White Doily to it. Adhere to the front of the treat bag using Sticky Strip.
3. Stamp the coffee cup from the Coffee Café stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink  Stamp the “Witches Brew with Scream & Sugar” and the spider web from the Merry Café stamp set onto the cup.  Cut out the coffee cup using the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies.  Using Pumpkin Pie ink and a Sponge Dauber, sponge around the top of the coffee cup.
4. Stamp a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock with the lid from the Coffee Café stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Adhere to the coffee cup and adhere to lace doily. 
5. Cut out a Crumb Cake “sleeve” to the cup using the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies. Adhere a strip of Vintage Crochet Trim to the sleeve and adhere to the bottom of the cup
6. Punch the top of a 2” x 4-1/4 Thick Whisper White card stock with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  Stamp the spider web at the top of the tag.  Sponge around the top of the tag with Pumpkin Pie ink.
7. Punch out a banner using the Duel Banner Punch in Basic Black card stock. Add a small oval stamped with “Love is Brewing” to the tag and tie to the large tag with Baker’s Twine.  Adhere a single pack of coffee to the tag with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Tutorial: Cat in the Window Card

 

Today's card features the new Cat Punch and the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies.  Depending on the sentiment, it could be a Halloween card, fall birthday card, or even a Thanksgiving card.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 11-1/2” x 4-1/4” Thick Very Vanilla card stock at 5-1/2”
2. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Basic Black card stock to the front of the card.
3. Emboss a 5” x 3-3/4 piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. Adhere to the front of the card.
4. Punch out a Basic Black cat using the Cat Punch. Adhere it to a 2-1/4” x 3-1/4” piece of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.
5. Cut out a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper using the window from the Hearth & Home Thinlits. Adhere the designer paper with the cat behind the window.  Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere window to the front of the card.
6. Cut out pumpkins from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper and adhere to the bottom of the window.
7. Cut out an Always Artichoke leaf using the Leaf Punch and adhere to the top corner of the window.

Tutorial: Colorful Seasons Elegant Leaves Card

 

 It is that time of year when nature waves her paint brush over the trees and the foliage turns into beautiful colors.  In honor of Mother Nature, my card today showcases elegant leaves.

The card features the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set and the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies which can be purchased as a bundle.  I decided to change up the colors a bit and instead of the usual reds, yellows and oranges, I used the soft blues and greens of Pool Party, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2 Pool Party card stock at 4-1/4”
2. Adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Whisper White card stock to the front of the card.
3. Stamp a piece of 3” x 2” Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper with the “May all your tomorrows be as happy as today” from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink.  Layer this piece over a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock.  Layer another smaller piece of the designer paper over a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock  Adhere both pieces onto the front of the card.
4. Using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, cut out 3 leaves in Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide card stock. Adhere to the front of the card.
5. Tie a bow using Linen Thread and adhere to the leaves using Glue Dots.
6. Stamp a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Whisper White card stock with a leaf stamp in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Adhere to inside of the card.

Happy October!  Because many (including myself) usually take off during the school fall break, I will be holding my October stamp camps early.  This month I will be teaching my October classes on
