Tutorial: Sneakers Card

Today's tutorial is such a fun card using the free Epic Celebrations Stamp Set from the Sale-a-bration Brochure.  Everyone enjoyed making this card at my March Stamp Camp.  It also uses some colorful paper from the Tutti Frutti Designer Series  Paper Stack in the Occasions Catalog.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Thick Whisper White card stock at 4-1/4” and set aside.
2. On a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Lemon Lime card stock adhere a piece of 5-1/4” x 2” Tutti Frutti Designer Series Paper Stack to the left side.  Adhere to the front of the card.
3. Cut out 3 Whisper White squares usinig the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Stamp the  sneakers from the Sale-a-bration Epic Celebrations Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Using either Watercolor Pencils or Stampin’ Blends, color the images.
4. Adhere the stamped pieces onto a 2-1/4” x 2-1/4” piece of Basic Gray card stock. Adhere 2 of the stamped images to the top and  bottom of the left side of card; add Stampin Diminsionals to the 3rd stamped image and place in the middle, offsetting it slightly.
5. Add 3 Candy Dots to the bottom of the card.
6. Stamp “You’re AWESOME” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink inside of card.

Tutorial: Blossoming Basket Card

Today's card features the Blossoming Basket Bundle from the Sale-a-bration Brochure.  I LOVE this bundle and I'm so thankful that the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder will be carried over into the Stampin' Up! 2018-19 Annual Catalog.  This means I can continue to use it for my future class projects.  It is such a pretty background!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Night of Navy card stock at 4-1/4” and set aside.
2. Emboss a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock with the Sale-a-bration Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder. Adhere a strip of 1.2” Navy Gingham Ribbon across the cardstock using Sticky Strip or Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Adhere embossed card stock onto front of the card.
3. Stamp a piece of 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” Whisper White card stock with the Sale-a-bration  Blossoming Basket Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.   Using either Watercolor Pencils or Stampin’ Blends, color the image.
4. Adhere stamped piece onto a 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. Stamp “Here for you” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and punch out.  Adhere to front of card.  Add 3 tiny Pearls Basic Jewels to the corner of the basket image.
6. Adhere another piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock inside card.

Tutorial: Party Pandas Celebrate Card

 

With March almost over, the Stampin' Up!  Sale-a-bration Promotion is winding down and will be ending on March 31st.  This year I think Stampin' Up!  has outdone themselves with all the fantastic items they are offering free in the Sale--abration Brochure.  

Today's tutorial features the free Party Pandas Stamp Set and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies.  These go so well together.  This particular stamp set has been one of my stampers' favorites.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Melon Mambo card stock at 4-1/4” and set aside.
2. Using the 1-3/4” Circle Punch, punch a circle in the upper right corner of a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock.  Adhere a piece of 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper behind the cut out.
3. Stamp the panda with the balloon from the Party Panda Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color the balloon with Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blends.
4. Stamp the panda holding the envelop on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock and cut upper body out. Tuck the panda into the circle area.
5. Adhere a 1-1/2” x 4” piece of Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the Whisper White piece. Adhere to the front of the card.
6. With the Celebrate You Thinlits Die, cut out “Celebrate” in Melon Mambo card stock. Adhere to front of the card.
7. Stamp sentiment on another piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock and adhere to inside of card.

Tutorial: Bird on a Branch Card

 

Today's tutorial uses the Petal Palette Bundle from the Stampin' Up!  Occasions Catalog.  This pretty card would make a great card for any occasion, depending on the sentiment you stamp inside.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Thick Whisper White card stock at 4-1/4” and set aside.
2. Emboss a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Sweet Sugarplum card stock with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder Adhere it to the front of the card.
3. Cut a piece of 3-1/2” x 4-1/2” Whisper White card stock. Using the Layering Squares Framelits, cut out a “window” in the upper part of the card stock.  
4. Emboss the “frame” part of the card stock with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.    Adhere to the front of the card at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. On the “square” left from cutting out your window, stamp the leaves from the Petal Palette Stamp Set in Lemon Lime ink. Adhere piece to the front of the card.  Cut out the leaves from Lemon Lime card stock using the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and adhere over the stamped leaves.
6. Stamp the bird in Early Espresso on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and cut out using the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  With Watercolor Pencils, color the bird.  Add to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Tie a piece of Linen Thread into a bow and adhere to the front of card with a Glue Dot.

Prayer Shawl Cards

 

I took a little  break from designing cards for my stamping classes and worked on some for my church's Prayer Shawl Ministry.  I try to coordinate my cards with the color of prayer shawls I've crocheted.  It's been a long winter so I was able to complete several shawls since January.  These will be given to people in our parish who have lost a loved one or perhaps are going into the hospital for surgery or chemo treatment. 

Our priest blesses each shawl -- actually he says a prayer over each one for the person who will be receiving the shawl.  As we have lovingly made each one, we too have said prayers for the person who will receive our shawl, thus, the name "prayer shawl."
