Tutorial: Dragonfly Card

 

I've always been fascinated with dragonflies and the way they zip around the water.  With the warm weather, this is the time of year you will see them if you have a lake, pond or even a water feature in your yard.   I absolutely love the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set but unfortunately it will be retiring at the end of the month when the new catalog debuts.  Today's card features this set, along with the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, also retiring.  

 Instructions  

1. Cut a thick piece of Very Vanilla card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”and score at  4-1/4” for the card base. 
2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Pacific Point card stock and adhere to the front of the card.
3. Cut a piece of 3-3/4” x 5” Very Vanilla card stock and cut out a square in the top center using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Emboss the piece with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. 
4. Adhere a 3” x 3” piece of Garden Impressions 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper behind the embossed card stock.  Adhere to the front of the card.
5. Stamp a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the dragonfly from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set using Pacific Point ink and a Dauber. Cut out the dragonfly using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.
6. Adhere a piece of Copper Cord (retired) behind the dragonfly. Adhere to the front of the card across the bottom of the square.
