Tutorial: Cottage Card

Sometimes a simple card is the prettiest and this is such a card.  We made this card in my Holiday Class and everyone loved it for its simplicity.  We used the pretty little cottage from the Still Scenes Stamp Set and made a template using the Rectangle Stitched Dies and Balmy Blue Ink to sponge around the cottage.  Then using Stampin' Blends, we added a little color to the cottage.

 

INSTRUCTIONS 

1. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half.  Set aside.
2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock. Place a cardboard mask that has a rectangle cut out over the Whisper White card stock.  Carefully hold the mask in place while stamping the cottage scene from the Still Scenes Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black  Memento Ink.  Color the winter cottage scene using Cherry Cobbler, Pineapple Punch and Mossy Meadows Stampin’ Blends.
3. Place a Post It Note cottage scene over your stamped image and holding the cardboard mask over the card stock, gently sponge Balmy Blue Ink around the top of the cottage.
4. Stamp “Happy Holidays” from the Warmest Regards Stamp Set (retired) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink at the top of the card stock.
5. Adhere the stamped card stock to the front of the card base.
6. Add 3 Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the front of the card.
7. Stamp a sentiment inside the card.

Tutorial: Snow Globe Card

I am so in love with the Still Scenes Stamp Set and coordinating Snow Globe Scenes Dies.  While this card is for Christmas, the stamp set and dies would work beautifully for a birthday card with another image stamped inside.  I'm not sure if the bundle will carry over into next year's Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, so if you like this set you need to order it before the end of December!  Just visit my Stampin' Up! Online Store to get yours today!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half.  Card will be landscape. 
2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Garden Green card stock and adhere to the front of the card.
3. Cut a piece of 3-3/4” x 5” Very Vanilla card stock and emboss with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. Adhere to the front of the card.
4. Adhere a piece of 3” x 4” Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper to the front of the card.
5. Cut out a Very Vanilla globe cut out with the Snow Globe Scenes Dies and stamp with the “From our home to yours” from the Everything Festive Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink.
6. Cut out a globe from a Window Sheet and adhere over the stamped globe using a Glue Dot.
7. Cut out the base of the globe in Garden Green card stock.
8. Cut out the intricate base in Silver Foil. Adhere to the Garden Green base.
9. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the globe and base to the front of the card.
10. Cut out two deer in Early Espresso card stock using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies. Adhere to each side of the globe.
11. Stamp a sentiment inside the card.

Tutorial: Warmest Winter Wishes Skate Card

After a total of 7-1/2 inches of snow in Indy in the past 2 days, I think today's card seems appropriate to showcase!  The card uses the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, along with the Detailed Skate Dies for a very winter look when paired with the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper! Be sure to visit my Stampin' Up! INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half.  Card will be landscape. 
2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock and emboss with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the front of the card. 
3. Cut a piece of 2” x 5-1/4” green plaid paper from the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper and adhere to the front of the card.
4. Cut out the both the solid and intricate skates in Whisper White card stock using the Detailed Skate Dies. Adhere together then adhere to the front of the card.
5. Using the Detailed Skate Dies, cut out the bow in Cherry Cobbler card stock. Adhere to the top of the skate.
6. With the Petal Labels Dies, cut out a Whisper White oval. Stamp the “Warmest Winter Wishes” in Cherry Cobbler Ink.  Adhere to the front of the card.
7. Cut another piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock and stamp a holiday sentiment on it. Adhere to the inside of the card.

Tutorial: Merriest Penguin Card

Have you ever watched penguins walk?  You can't help but smile at their little waddle.  And for that reason, today's card makes me smile!  This card is both an easy card to make and a fun card to send.  It uses the Playful Penguins Stamp Set.  The penguin is fussy cut and added with Stampin' Dimensionals.  All the supplies can be found in my Stampin' Up! Online Store.

 

 

Merriest Wishes Penguin Card 

1. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half. 
2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White card stock and emboss with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder (retired). Adhere to the front of the card.
3. Cut a piece of 2-3/4” x 3-3/4” Whisper White card stock. Stamp the “Merriest Wishes” from the Playful Penguins Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink close to the bottom of the card stock.  Sponge Balmy Blue Ink above the greeting. 
4. Stamp a penguin from the Playful Penguins Stamp Set on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Carefully cut out the penguin.  Stamp the scarf in Real Red Ink and carefully cut out.  Adhere to the penguin.
5. Cut a pieces of 3” x 4” Basic Black card stock Adhere the stamped piece to the Basic Black card stock.  Adhere to the front of the card.
6. Adhere the penguin to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add 3 Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
7. Stamp a sentiment inside of the card.

Tutorial: Cups of Comfort & Joy Card

Happy December!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.  I am taking a bit of a break this week from cooking before I start in next week on my Christmas baking.  I will be busy making lots of cookies, candy and our traditional Slovenian Potica for Christmas.

 Today's tutorial features the Cup of Christmas Stamp Set and the Cup of Cheers Dies along with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder which can be found in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  If you don't mind a lot of pieces, it really is a fun card to make!  Be sure to visit my Stampin' Up! Website for shopping, promotions and other fun ideas!

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half. 
2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Cherry Cobbler card stock and adhere to the front of the card.
3. Cut a piece of 3-3/4” x 5” Whisper White card stock and emboss with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the front of the card.
4. Cut a piece of 1-1/2” x 5” Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series paper and adhere to the bottom of the card front.
5. Cut a piece of 1/2” x 5” Gold Foil Paper and emboss with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere the strip to the top of the plaid paper
6. Using the Cup of Cheers Dies, cut out 2 Whisper White mugs, the Poinsettia in Cherry Cobbler card stock, and the stripes in Shaded Spruce card stock.  Cut out 2 solid candy canes in Whisper White and the stripes candy canes in Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Cut out the bow in Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Adhere everything to the front of the card.
7. With the oval from the Stitched Shapes Oval Dies, cut out a Whisper White oval and stamp with the Comfort & Joy from the Cup of Christmas Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler Ink. Adhere to the front of the card.
8. Stamp a sentiment inside of the card.
