Tutorial: Pac Man Card

Everyone who knows me and stamps with me knows I love all things with flowers and I tend to purchase flower stamp sets.  I fell in love with the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set and the coordinating Tulip Builder Punch.  We've made some very pretty flower cards using both in my classes.  But sometimes you have to think outside the box when you look at a stamp set or a punch.  I'm not sure who to give credit to for looking outside the box and seeing Pac Man when using the punch!

 

 INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece Whisper White card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half.  Card base will be landscape. 

2. Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to measure 5-1/4” x 4” and adhere to the front of the card.

3. Cut out 3 shapes from the Tulip Builder Punch in Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point and Real Red card stock. These will be the Pac Man figures.  Adhere to the frot of the card and add Squiggly Eyes to each.

4. Cut out a So Saffron circle with the 1” Circle Punch and cut out a small triangle piece from it. Adhere to the front of the card.

5. Cut out 5 small Whisper White circles using the 1/4” Circle Punch and adhere to the front of the card.

6. Cut out 4 small strips of Pacific Point card stock and adhere to the front of the card.

7. Cut out an oval using the Stitched Shapes Dies in So Saffron card stock and stamp “happy birthday” from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Adhere to the front of the card.

8. Stamp the sentiment inside of the card.

Tutorial: Fancy Fold Ornate Garden Card

Today I wanted to show you a beautiful fancy fold card.  There are several different ways to make this card and this is just one of them.  I am so in love with the Ornate Garden Suite so I did use several of the items from this suite for the card.  I will show you a pretty holiday gift card at a later date using this same fold.

 

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of Ornate Garden Designer Specialty Paper to measure 11-3/4” x 5-1/4” and score at 1-3/4, 4-3/4” and 7-3/4” — fold back and forth.   Burnish folds with Bone Folder.

2. For the base, cut a piece of coordinating card stock to measure 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” and adhere designer paper to the base.

3. Adhere the two larger folds together.

4. Cut out the following shapes in Very Vanilla card stock:

           Large circle from Stitched Shapes Dies

           Small rectangle frame from Rectangular Stitched Dies

           Large ornate frame from Ornate Layers Dies.

5. In Early Espresso ink, stamp sentiments from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set.

6. Punch out Old Olive leaves and using the Ornate Thanks Dies, cut out Petal Pink and Terracotta Tile flowers. Adhere to the front of the circle.

7. Using a Glue Dot, adhere a bow made from Linen Thread to the top of the circle.

Tutorial: Ornate Thanks Card

It's always good to have a few Thank You Cards on hand whether to say thank you for a gift you have received or for something nice someone has done for you.   Everyone appreciates being acknowledged. 

Today's tutorial is a very simple card using the Ornate Border Dies and the Ornate Layers Dies.  It's quick but beautiful.

Instructions

1. Cut a piece Very Vanilla card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” Fold in half.  This card will be landscape.

2. Cut a piece of Soft Seafoam card stock to measure 5-1/4” x 4” and with the long flower border die from the Ornate Border Dies, cut out the edge of the card stock.

3. Emboss the card stock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Folder. Adhere to the front of the card.

4. Cut out a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the smaller frame die from the Ornate Layers Die. Stamp “Thanks” from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set in Crumb Cake ink.  Adhere to the front of the card.

5. Tie a vanilla/cream ribbon in a bow and attach with a Glue Dot onto the Thanks frame.

Tutorial: Poppy "Congratulations" Card

Today's card is such a pretty card and can be used as either a wedding or graduation card.  The card features the Poppy Moments Dies and the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  It is very easy to make as there is very little stamping.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece Very Vanilla card stock to measure 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” and score at 4-1/4” and fold in half.

2. Cut another piece of Very Vanilla card stock to measure 5-1/4” x 4” and emboss with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the front of the card.

3. Cut out 2 solid poppy shapes from the Poppy Moments Dies using paper from the Lilly Impressions Designer Series Paper (retired). Cut out the poppy outlines using Rose Foil (retired).  Adhere the foil outlines to the solid poppy shapes.  Adhere to the front of the card.  NOTE:  Any color card stock, designer paper or foil can be used.

4. Cut out the Basic Black centers and adhere to the flowers.

5. Cut out the Mossy Meadow leaves and adhere to the front of the card.

6. On a 3” x 3/4” piece of Very Vanilla card stock stamp “Congratulations” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

7. Stamp the sentiment inside the card.

My July Stamp Camps are quickly filling up.  In order to keep  numbers small, I will be teaching 2 stamping classes this month.  Also, with keeping within the guidelines, everyone will need to wear a mask at my classes.  I still have 1 opening at my Saturday morning class and 2 openings at my Sunday afternoon class.  The dates and times are:

Tutorial: Dandelion Get Well Card

It's always good to have a few get well cards on hand, especially with all the craziness going on right now.  Today's tutorial is for a fun fold card featuring the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set.  Any of the new Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper and 3D Embossing Folders would work well for this particular card.

 

 INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut a piece Crumb Cake card stock to measure 11” x 4-1/4” and score at 5-1/2” Fold in half.  Card base will be landscape. 

2. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to measure 4” x 5-1/4” and emboss with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (retired). Adhere to the front of the card.

3. Cut a 2” x 4” piece of Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (retired) and layer it to a 2-1/4” x 4”  piece of Crumb Cake card stock and adhere to the front of the card.

4. With the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, cut out a large Whisper White circle. Stamp the circle with the 3 dandelions image from the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set.  Color with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend and adhere to the front of the card  using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 

5. Add a Braided Linen Trim bow to the circle with a Glue Dot.

7. Cut a piece of 11” x 1-1/4” Crumb Cake card stock and score at 2-3/4”, 5-1/2” and 8-1/4”.  Adhere to the inside of the card. 

6. Adhere a 1-1/2” x 4-1/8” piece of Designer Series Paper and adhere to either side of the card.

7. Stamp 4 pieces of Very Vanilla card stock that have been cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies with the images from the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set.  Layer these pieces with 2-1/4” x 2-1/4” Rich Razzelberry card stock.  Color images with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blend and adhere the stamped images to the Crump Cake piece inside card.
