Wildly Adorable Baby Card

I wanted to share this darling card made by my downline Debbie N. (Martinsville).  Debbie used the Wildly Adorable Stamp Set stamp set which I have now put on my wish list.  The little baby image was colored using Stampin' Blends.  

The outline style of this 8-piece cling stamp set is perfect for practicing a variety of coloring techniques. Have a safari-themed nursery? Or sweet pink baby shower? Tutorial: True Friend Card

 

Today's card is a simple friendship card because sometimes simple says it best.  This card uses the Garden Wishes stamp set and a little bit of card-layering.  I also used a clear "C Block" to stamp the colors with.

 

Instructions

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Bumble Bee cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base.

2. Cut a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and adhere to the front of the card

3. Cut a 5” x 3-3/4” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock; ink up a “C” Clear Block with Bumble Bee ink and stamp at the top of the cardstock; ink up another clear block with Pear Pizzazz ink and stamp under the first block.

4. Stamp the dandelions from the Garden Wishes stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink over the blocks.

5. Stamp “Made with love for a true friend” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink at the bottom of the cardstock.

6. Tie a 1/4” Bumble Bee Ribbon in a knot and adhere over the stamped cardstock. Adhere this to the front of the card.

7. Stamp a scrap piece of cardstock with the bumble bee image; color body with a Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker and cut out. Adhere to the front of the card with a Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tutorial: Shopping Bag Card

Today's card is a fun way to give someone money or a gift card.  When you open the card a cute little shopping bag pops up.  It is just the right size to hold that special money gift!

 

Birthday Shopping Bag Card

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Terracotta Tile cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base. Your card will be landscape.

2. Cut a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere to the front of the card.     

3. Cut a piece of Hand Penned Designer Paper to measure 5” x 3-3/4” and adhere to the front of the card.

4. Stamp a 1” x 4-1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock with the “Wishing you every happiness this special day will bring” from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Cut out using the Rectangle Postage Punch.  Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

5. Punch out 2 large and 2 medium daisies using the Daisy Punch and the Daisy Medium Punch. Layer them together with Glue Dots, offsetting each one.  Adhere to the front of the card.

 

SHOPPING BAG FOR INSIDE OF CARD

1. For the shopping bag cut out two pieces of In Color Designer Series Paper measuring 3” x 6” With long side along at the top of score board, score each side at 1/2” and 1” Fold in a zig zag.

2. With short side along top of score board, score at 3/8” — this will be the bottom of the shopping bag.

3. On the 3” x 6” pieces, cut off the two little squares on each side. Adhere the two pieces together on just one side of bag.

4. Before adhering the second side of shopping bag, punch the holes into the sides for the ribbon or twine handles. Use Scotch tape to secure handles.  Adhere second sides of bag together.

6. Spread out the 3/8” flaps and add adhesive. Adhere to the inside of card.
7. Cut a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp your sentiment. Adhere to the inside of the card over the  shopping bag flap.

Tutorial: Cherish Happy Moments Easel Card

Whenever I can, I love to show my stampers a new fun-fold card.  When I saw how easy it was to make this easel card I knew I had to incorporate it in one of my Stamp Camps.  This card uses the Sketched in Nature stamp set. and while this set is currently unavailable, I am hoping Stampin' Up!  will soon release it so everyone can order it.  I am in love with this set!  However, you can absolutely use just about any set for this card.  

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Highland Heather cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base.

2. Open up card and carefully mark 1-1/2” on each side of the card. Carefully cut down to the fold line on each side.  You will now have 3 flaps (two measuring 1-1/2” and middle measuring 4” x 2-1/2)

3. Cut a 3-1/2” x 4” piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere to the center of the inside of card. Glue down the outside flaps.

4. Cut two pieces of Hand Penned Designer Series Paper measuring 1-1/4” x 4” and adhere to the outside flaps.

5. Score or fold the center flap in half. Open back up.  Cut a 4” x 2-1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere a 4” x 2” piece of Hand Penned Designer Series Paper to it.  Adhere the layers to the center flap of card. 

6. Stamp a piece of Basic White cardstock with the “Cherish Happy Moments” from the Etched In Nature stamp set. Cut out the sentiment using the Everyday Label Punch.  Adhere to the   center of the inside of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This will hold your center flap in place.  Fold over center flap.

7. Cut out a circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies in Basic White cardstock. Cut a Highland Heather circle using the 2-3/8” Scallop Punch (retired) and the 2” Circle Punch.  Glue layers together and adhere to the front of the card.

8. Stamp a piece of Basic White cardstock with the bird image from the Etched in Nature stamp set. Color using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils.   Adhere to the center of the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tutorial: Thinking of You Card

This week's tutorial is a very simple "Thinking of You" card which uses minimal supplies.  You can change up the colors to make it a feminine or masculine card.  The stamp set used for this card was the Etched in Nature stamp set.  While the set is currently unavailable, it is one of my favorite and I hope Stampin' Up! brings it back soon.  In the meantime, any flower or tree image would work.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Thick Basic White cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base.

2. Cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock to measure 5-1/4” x 4” and adhere to the front of the card.

3. Make a template that measures 5” x 3-3/4” and cut out a circle towards the top using a 2-1/2” punch. 

4. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to measure 5” x 3-3/4” and place the template over this piece.  Holding template in place, gently add Pretty Peacock Ink around the edges of circle using a Blending Brush.  Remove template to reveal a soft circle.

6. Stamp the flower image from the Etched In Nature  Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink over the soft circle.  Stamp “Thinking of you with all my heart” from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in Early Espresso Ink at the bottom of the card
7. Tie a knot in the center of a piece of 1/4” Faux Suede Ribbon and adhere across stamped cardstock. Adhere cardstock to the front of the card.

Give It A Whirl Cards

Yesterday one of my downline, Debbie N. (Martinsville) came over and brought samples of cards she made using some of the brand new product from the 2021-22 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  It's amazing how many times I have looked through the catalog and have missed something that now I just have to purchase! 

Debbie made several cards using the Give It A Whirl Dies which I had completely overlooked.  After seeing her beautiful cards, you can bet this is on my list of things to purchase and we will be using it at a future Stamp Camp!

Look closely and you will see the little wheel on the cards.  When you turn it you will see more images on the card!  This die works for so many stamp sets you probably already own!  One of the tips Debbie gave me was to be sure to use Basic White Thick Cardstock for the wheel, and to double up on the Stampin' Dimensionals for the cards.

Tutorial: We're In This Together Card

At my April Stamp Camps the cards we made all used the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set and the Hydrangea Dies.  While you can purchase these separately, they are still available as a bundle for a 10% savings.  While the cardstock and designer series paper we used for this card have retired, this card can be made using any of the new In Colors and new Designer Series Paper from the 2021-22 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Rococo Rose cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base.  Cut off 1” on front side.

2. Stamp the front of the card randomly with small flowers from the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set either in VersaMark or Rococo Rose Ink.

3. Stamp a 5-1/2” x 2” piece of Hydrangea Hills Designer Series Paper with the “We’re in this together” from the Heal Your Heart Stamp Set (Sale-a-bration) and layer it over a piece of 5-1/2 x 2-1/2” Basic White cardstock. Adhere to the front of the card.

4. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 2” Basic White cardstock and score at 4-1/4” then fold in half, trimming off 1/2” from the end. Using the Scallop Tag Punch, punch one end of the strip.  Adhere the part of the strip that has not been punched out to the inside of the card.

5. Adhere a 5-1/2” x 1” strip of Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration) to a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Basic White cardstock.  Stamp the     sentiment and then adhere to the inside of the card.

7. Cut out the small bunch of flowers from the Hydrangea Hills Designer Series Paper and adhere to the front flap of the Basic White cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Thread a piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon through the Scallop Flap and tie the ribbon to close the card.

Graduation Time!

This weekend was so special for our family.  My oldest granddaughter Angela, graduated with honors from Brownsburg High School.  After her summer vacation she will be heading off to Purdue University where we know she will continue to be an outstanding student.  We are so proud of all her accomplishments. 

 

I wanted to show you the card I made for her, which gave me a chance to use some of my retired items, such as the Beautiful You Stamp Set and the Large Numbers Dies to make her a special "eclipse" card.
