Tutorial: Winter Holiday Card

For the last several weeks I have been showing you how to make seasonal cards using the Inspiring Canopy Dies along with the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.  This is the final card of the 4-seasons card set we made at my stamping class.

This card is a beautiful winter holiday card for those special people on your Christmas card list.  But by changing the sentiment, this card could also be a pretty birthday card!  It takes a little more time to make but the effort is worth it!

 

 

 INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic White cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base. Card will be landscaped.  Cut off part of the card front keeping only 1-1/2 inch at top.

2. Line up the curvy die from the Inspiring Canopy Dies on piece cut from the front of the card along the center and cut out. You will only need 1 piece.  Emboss this piece with the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder.  This will now become the bottom of your card front.

3. Cut out a 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” Window Sheet and adhere to the top of the flap on the card front.

4. Cut out a piece of 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper and adhere to the top flap of the card.

5. Cut out the trees from the Inspiring Canopy Dies in Basic White card stock Adhere to the front of the card flap and window sheet. 

6. Adhere the embossed Basic White cardstock to the bottom of the card front.

7. On a piece of Basic White cardstock stamp Peace Joy Love from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set in Smokey Slate Ink. Punch out using the Postage Stamp Punch (retired).

8. On a piece of Basic White cardstock stamp “Wishing you all the beautiful gifts of Christmas” from Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set in Smokey Slate Ink.  Punch out using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.  Adhere to the inside of the card.

9. Punch out two Cherry Cobbler birds using the Tree Builder Punch (retired). Adhere to the trees on the front of the card using Glue Dots.

Biggest Wish Birthday Card

Tutorial: Fall Sympathy Card

Today's card again uses the Inspiring Canopy Dies along with the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set to make this fall sympathy card.  By changing the sentiment, this card could also be a get well, thinking of you or a fall birthday card.  There are so many possibilities with this stamp set!

 

INSTRUCTONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Very Vanilla cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base. Card will be landscaped.  Punch out a circle at the bottom right corner on the card front using a  2” Circle Punch,

2. Cut out a piece of 5-1/4” x 4” Cajun Craze cardstock and emboss it with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to the front of the card.  Open up the card and line up the punch over the hole and punch out the Cajun Craze cardstock.

3. Cut out the trees from the Inspiring Canopy Dies in Soft Suede card stock Separate 2 of the trees and adhere to the front of the card. 

4. Cut out some leaves from the Inspiring Canopy Dies in Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Bumblebee cardstock and adhere to the top of the trees.

5. Tie a piece of Bakers Twine in a bow and adhere to the front of the card using Glue Dots.

6. Stamp “With Heartfelt Sympathy” inside the card in Early Espresso Ink.

7. Punch out some leaves in Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Bumblebee cardstock and adhere to the inside of the card so they will show through the circle.

Tutorial: Summer Healing Thoughts Card

Today I wanted to show you a pretty card made with the Inspired Thoughts Bundle.  I love this set which includes 7 whimsical dies.  It also includes 11 cling stamps.  Have you ever been stumped on what to say on your cards?  The Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set has many heartfelt sentiments designed specifically for card fronts and inside the card!  Plus, the font style in this stamp set is clean and neutral, making it a complementary match to all of your favorite image stamps!  I know you are going to fall in love with this bundle!  

 

 INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Very Vanilla cardstock at 4-1/4” for your card base.

2. Tie a piece of Linen Thread around a strip of 5-1/4” x 2” Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and adhere to the left side of card front.

3. Cut out a Very Vanilla rectangle using the Rectangle Stitched Dies and stamp the background using the Stacked Stone Background Stamp in Sahara Sand Ink.  Adhere to the front of the card.

4. Cut out the trees from the Inspiring Canopy Dies in Soft Suede card stock Snip 1 of the trees to use for this card.  Adhere it to the stamped rectangle.

5. Cut out some leaves from the Inspiring Canopy Dies in Winter Evergreen and Soft Succulent cardstock and adhere to the top of the trees.

6. Punch out a Very Vanilla label from the Potted Succulents Dies and stamp with the “Sending Healing Thoughts your way” in Sahara Sand Ink. Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

7. Stamp “Sheltering you with Love at a time when words fall short” inside the card in Sahara Sand Ink.

Upcoming Stamping Classes

 

It's been a while since I posted due to a crazy schedule.  I talked my husband into letting me foster some kittens from the local animal shelter near us.  I convinced him it would be better than actually adopting because we could take the kittens in for a few weeks, love and cuddle them, then return them when they were big enough to get fixed and put up for adoption.  So that's what I've been busy with recently.  What I hadn't counted on was falling in love with them and being so sad when the time came to return them to the shelter!

 

Now while I await my next group of kittens, I am getting ready for my October Stamp Camps.  At these stamping classes we will be making all Christmas cards since it is never too early to get a jump start on holiday cards!  The days and times of my next classes are

Saturday Morning, October 16th at 10:00 a.m.

and

Sunday Afternoon, October 17th at 1:00 p.m.
