Handmade Christmas Cards From Friends

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I know you are probably busy now getting ready for the New Year!  We had a very nice Christmas, although it was more on the quiet side this year.  We were able to drive up and see my son Eric and had a very nice visit with him.  Then daughter Kelly and her family came over in the afternoon for Christmas dinner and to exchange gifts.  We will celebrate Christmas with daughter Julie and her family at a later time because this year they were on a Christmas Cruise.

I received so many beautiful handmade cards this year and this week I wanted to share some of the cards with you.  My friends are so talented!  Below are two of the cards I received.

Tutorial: Sending Love & Peace Card

Today's card again features Peaceful Deer Stamp Set and the Deer Builder Punch.  You can still purchase both as a bundle for a 10% savings if you are interested in these items.  There are so many different cards you can create with them that I know you will want to add them to your Stampin' Up! collection!.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic White Thick cardstock and score at 4-1/4” — this will be the card base.

2. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and adhere to the front of the card.

3. Emboss a 3-3/4” x 5” piece Whisper White cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the front of the card.

4. Cut out a 4” x 3” piece of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper and adhere to the center of the card.

5. Cut out a Whisper White rectangle using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Stamp the trees from the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen Ink.  Stamp the “Sending love & peace this Season”  in Sahara Sand Ink.

6. Cut out a reindeer from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper using the Deer Builder Punch. Add the deer to the stamped cardstock and adhere to the front of the card.

7. Adhere a few gold sequins to the front of the card using Glue Dots.

8. Stamp your sentiment inside the card.

Tutorial: Pajama Pocket Card

Today's card is one I had hoped to teach in November but due to getting very ill I had to cancel the class.  I wanted to make sure I posted a tutorial to show how this cute card was made.  It really is timeless if you like to give gift cards (or money) at Christmas time.  I made a template for each person attending my class so they would be able to duplicate the pocket on the front of the card.  The card is made to look like a pajama top!

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic White Thick cardstock and score at 4-1/4” — this will be the card base.

2. Cut a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper (or any Christmas Designer Series Paper) and adhere to the front of the card.

3. Cut out a pocket using the same paper from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper using the Pocket Framelits Dies (retired). All class attendees will receive the pocket template for their use.  Add adhesive to 3 sides of the pocket and adhere to the front of the card. 

4. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to measure 4” x 1-3/4” and then cut at an angle. You will only need one for the collar.

5. Cut a piece of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper to measure 3-3/4” x 1-/2” and cut this piece at an angle.  Adhere to the Basic White shape and adhere to the front of the card.  NOTE: Watch how you cut this piece out if it has a pattern.  It should run the same way as your base card.

6. Either using real buttons or buttons cut out using Basic White cardstock, adhere 3 buttons onto the front of the card.

7. Tie a bow using Real Red Braided Linen Thread and adhere to the pocket.

8. Stamp your sentiment inside the card.

Tutorial: Love & Peace Reindeer Card

If you like nature cards you will love the look of this card!   I used the Evergreen Border Punch, along with the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set and the Deer Builder Punch to give the card lots of dimension.  

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic White cardstock and score at 4-1/4” — this will be the card base.

2. Emboss a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White cardstock with the Wintry 3D Embossing folder. Adhere to the front of the card.

3. Cut a 1/2” x 5-1/4” strip of Be Dazzling Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration) and adhere it to a piece of 2” x 5-1/4” Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration) and adhere to left side of card.

4. Punch out a strip of trees in Evening Evergreen cardstock using the Evergreen Border Punch. Adhere to the bottom of the card.

5. Stamp a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock with the reindeer from the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set in Real Red Ink. Punch out the reindeer using the Deer Builder Punch.  Punch out the antlers using a scrap of Early Espresso cardstock.  Adhere the reindeer to the front of the card.

6. Stamp a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock with the “Sending love & peace this season” in Real Read Ink and punch out using the Label Me Fancy Punch.  Add a ribbon to the tag and adhere to the front of the card.

7. Stamp the inside of the card with “Merry Christmas” in Real Red Ink.

8. Stamp the baby deer in Real Red Ink on the front of the envelop.

Tutorial: You're the Icing Gingerbread Card

Today's card again features the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set, the Gingerbread Dies and the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper.  I also used the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.  This is a darling card and very easy to make.   

 

Instructions:  

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic White Thick cardstock and score at 4-1/4” — this will be the card base.

2. Emboss a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Real Red cardstock with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. 

3. Cut a 2” x 4” piece of Gingerbread & Peppermints Designer Series Paper and adhere to the center of the card front.

4. Cut out 2 Basic White gingerbread boarders using the dies from the Gingerbread Dies and adhere above and below of the designer series paper. Adhere piece to the front of the card.

5. Cut out a solid snowflake shape and solid bell shape in Cinnamon Cider cardstock using Gingerbread Dies.

6. Cut out the intricate snowflake shape in Basic White cardstock and adhere to the solid shape. Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

8. Cut out a Basic White rectangle using the Rectangle Stitched Dies and stamp the “You’re the icing to my gingerbread” from the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set in Old Olive Ink. Adhere to the bottom of the card using Stampin Dimensionals.
9. Stamp the sentiment in the inside of the card.

Tutorial: Gingerbread Card

Today's Christmas card features the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and the Gingerbread Dies.  This card is easy to make and the gingerbread looks good enough to eat!

 

  Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic White Thick cardstock and score at 4-1/4” — this will be the card base.

2. Emboss a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to the front of the card. 

3. Cut a 2” x 5” piece of Old Olive cardstock and punch out the top using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.

4. Adhere a 1-3/4” x 4-1/4” piece of Gingerbread & Peppermint   Designer Series Paper to the tag.  Tie a piece of Baker’s Twine to the top of the tag and adhere to the front of the card. 

5. Cut out a solid star shape and solid bell shape in Crumb Cake cardstock using Gingerbread Dies.

7. Cut out the intricate star and bell shapes in Basic White cardstock and adhere to the solid shapes. Adhere to the front of the tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Stamp a 1/2” x 3-1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock with the “happy holidays” from the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Ink.  Using your scissors or a 2” Square Punch, make a V cut on the end of the strip.  Adhere to the front of the card
9. Stamp the inside of the card with “Wishing you a Merry Christmas” from the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set.

Tutorial: Trio of Trees Card

I love Stampin' Up! punches and today I wanted to show you a cute card using the Pine Tree Punch.  This card is also an excellent way to show both sides to our pretty Designer Series Paper!

 

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Evening Evergreen cardstock and score at 4-1/4” — this will be the card base.

2. Cut out 2 pieces of Basic White cardstock to measure 4” x 5-1/4”. Stamp one piece with the “Merry Christmas” from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink and adhere to the inside of the card.  Add a 1/2” x 5-1/4” strip of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper to the inside.

3. Cut a piece of 4” x 5-1/4” Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper; cut 3” into the center. Fold cut sides back towards top and bottom, gluing flaps down.  Adhere the     Designer Series Paper to the second piece of Basic White cardstock.  Adhere a piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon around the layered piece and adhere to the front of the card.

4. Cut out a Basic White circle using a 2-1/2” Circle Punch (retired.) Adhere to the front of the card.

5. Stamp 3 trees from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink and punch out using the Pine Tree Punch. Adhere onto a Basic White circle.

6. Add desired embellishments to the front of the card.
