Tutorial: Gift Box Treat and Card Holder

Last week I showed you the cute Minnie & Mickey Mouse Birthday Gift Box & Money Holder I made for my granddaughter Emma for her birthday.  Today I wanted to show you the same box but this time it is a Christmas box.  It does take a little more time than a traditional Christmas card, but it is such a fun way to present someone a gift card or money with a little treat inside the box!

 

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock to measure 10-3/4” x 8”

            Score along long side at:  1/2”    3-1/4”    4-1/8”    7”    8”

            Score along short side at: 1/2”    1-1/2”    6-1/2”    7-1/2”

2. Burnish along all score lines and cut out according to photo

3. Round corners of 2 large flaps; add Tear & Tape or Multipurpose Adhesive to the long thin flap and fold to make box.

Top of Flap

1. Cut a 2-1/2” x 4-3/4” piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to top of flap.
2. Cut a piece of 2-1/4” x 4-1/2 Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper and adhere to the top of flap.
3. Stamp a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Christmas tree from the Winter Woods stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink and cut out with the In the Woods Dies. Adhere to the top of the flap.  Add a star cut out in Gold Glitter Paper.

Inside Gift Card Flap

1. Cut out a piece of 2” x 4-3/4” Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper and using a 2-1/2” Circle Punch, punch out a 1/2 circle and adhere to the inside flap.
2. Cut out the leaves from the In the Woods Dies in Misty Moonlight cardstock. Adhere to the inside flap.

Inside Box

1. Cut a piece of 2-1/2” x 4-3/4” Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper and adhere to the box.
2. Using the North Pole Wonder Dies, cut out a Whisper White tag and stamp with the “Thinking of You This Season” from the Winter Woods stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink.
3. Add a piece of White Baker’s Twine to the tag and a strip of Balmy Blue Glitter Paper to the tag. Adhere to the box.

Easter Treat

Tutorial: Acrylic Desk Calendar

Doesn't everyone need a new calendar now that we are starting a new year?  Here is an easy calendar made with an acrylic frame for your desk or work area.

Instructions for the Acrylic Magnetic Calendar 

1. Place a piece of 4” x 6” Basic Black card stock inside the Acrylic Magnetic Frame.  Set aside.
2. Cut a piece of 3-1/2” x 5-1/2”  Seaside Spray card stock.  Adhere a piece of 1” x 3-3/4”  2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the card stock.
3. Stamp a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock with the little daisy from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set in Seaside Spray Ink 2 times. Fussy cut the daisies out and adhere them together using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  Adhere to the gingham strip.
4. Tie the calendar onto the card stock with a piece of Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.
5. Adhere the calendar onto a piece of 3-3/4” x 5-3/4” Whisper White card stock. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere layered calendar onto the front of the Acrylic Magnetic Frame.

Tutorial: Long Box

One of my favorite new tools is the Take Your Pick Tool.  This is a multipurpose pickup and precision tool which simplifies meticulous tasks. Tacky putty end easily picks up sequins, paper accents, and other small objects; twist to dispense more putty. Other end has 2 changeable, double-ended tips with paper piercer, mini spatula, small stylus, and large stylus. The problem I had with the tool was how to store it.

 

Today I thought I'd show you an easy tutorial to make a long box that will hold your Take Your Pick Tool.  It will also hold other items such as Hershey chocolates, pens and pencils, etc.  

INSTRUCTIONS  

1. Cut a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock to measure 8-1/4” x 8-3/4”
2. Score the long side at 3/4” and 9”.
3. Turn and score the short side at 3/4”, 3-3-/4”, 4-1/2” and 7-1/2”.
4. Burnish and score all score lines.
5. Angle cut up to the score line on both short sides.
6. Adhere flaps using Multi Purpose Glue.
7. Cut 1 piece of Share What You Love Designer Series Paper to measure 8-1/8” x 2-7/8” and adhere to top of box.
8. Cut 1 piece of Share What You Love Designer Series Paper to measure 8-1/8” x 1/2” and adhere to front and back of box.
9. Punch 1/2” Circle in lid of box.

Tutorial: Acrylic Frame Magnetic Calendar

 

 

Can you believe it's almost time to bring out the 2019 calendars?  I don't know about you but this year went extremely fast for me.  It's hard to believe that Christmas is just 2 weeks away and we will soon be ringing in the New Year. 

Today I wanted to show you a cute magnetic calendar we made at one of my classes that is perfect for your refrigerator or your file cabinet at work.  It is very simple to make and uses the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set and Nature's Roots Framelits Dies.  You can purchase these separately or in a bundle to save 10%.  Just visit my Stampin' Up! INSTRUCTIONS 

1. Cut a 4” x 6” piece of  Share What You Love Designer Series Paper and insert inside Acrylic Magnet Frame. 
2. On a piece of Sahara Sand card stock, stamp 2 leaves and the stump from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink. Cut out.
3. Stamp the leaves onto Old Olive card stock in Old Olive Ink. Cut out using the Natures Roots Framelits Dies.
4. Stamp the other leaves onto Crushed Curry card stock in Crushed Curry Ink and cut out.
5. EYES: Punch out two Whisper White circles and two Sahara Sand circles using the 3/4” Circle Punch.  Punch out 1/4” Basic Black circles. 
6. Adhere pieces together to form Owl. Adhere to front of clear frame using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Blended Seasons Trivet Door Prize

Teacups With Chocolates

 

This weekend at my Stamp Camps I have a little gift for everyone attending.  I have made each person a little teacup favor which holds a Lindor chocolate.  These favors would make a cute little gift for a co-worker celebrating a birthday, or party favors at a baby or bridal shower, depending on the Designer Series Paper you use. 

 

For my teacup gifts I used the  Garden Impressions 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  I will be posting instructions next week on how to make these.

Tutorial: Matchbox Cover Treats

 

I had a great weekend teaching my April stamping classes.  I have one more to go -- Monday morning at 10:00.  I try to always have a little goodie for all my class attendees and this month they all received a little Matchbox Cover with a Ghiradelli chocolate inside.  Afterall, who can stamp without chocolates?  I promised them I would post the instructions to make these cute little treats.  They would be great for Teacher Appreciation, co-workers, or little party favors.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Cut a piece of card stock to measure 6-1/2" x 2-1/4"

2.  Score card stock at 1" and 4" and with Bone Folder crease along score lines

3.  Decorate the front flaps as desired with Designer Series Paper.

4.  Fold small bottom flap and secure with staple.

5.  Add candy inside using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

6.  Fold top flap in.
