Tutorial: Special Someone Valentine Card

It's time to get ready for Valentine's Day and make a card for that special someone in your life.  The card I want to show you today features the Special Someone Stamp Set.  It is a darling two-step stampin’ set which allows you to layer two or more images to create one final image with extra texture and dimension in the colors you want.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Thick Basic White cardstock and score at 4-1/4” for card base.

2. Emboss the front of the card base using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

3. Cut a 5-1/4” x 1” piece of Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (SAB) and adhere it to the front of the card on the left hand side.

4. Cut out a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Ornate Layers Dies. Stamp ‘happy Valentine’s Day” from the Good Tidings Stamp Set (Retired) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the bottom.  Stamp a Real Red balloon from the Special Someone Stamp Set with a Tuxedo Black tie.  Adhere the stamped piece to the front of the card.

5. On a piece of Basic White cardstock stamp the raccoon outline in Crumb Cake Ink. Stamp over the raccoon with the detailed image in Early Espresso Ink.  Either with scissors or the Special Day Dies, cut out the raccoon and adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

6. Stamp “Sending love your way” from the Posted for You Stamp Set inside the card.

7. Stamp the balloon on the front of the envelope.

Christmas Tags Door Prize

This coming weekend is my Christmas Card Class and I made a pretty box of Christmas tags as my door prize.  I used the new Acetate Boxes and the Father Christmas Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! for my door prize.  I love the acetate boxes -- you can use them for so many wonderful things.  They are in the current Holiday Catalog but I hope they will be a staple in next year's new Annual Catalog.  Be sure to visit my Stampin' Up! Pocketful of Sunshine Favor

As a bonus project at my recent October Stamp Camp, I made these cute little pocket favors using the Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle for all my class attendees.  Inside I tucked the instructions so my stampers could make them at home. 

These favors would be great to hold some tasty treats or maybe a little 3" x 3" card and gift certificate.  Depending on whether you wanted it for a birthday, or a special holiday such as Christmas or Valentine's day, you would just need to use the appropriate Designer Series Paper.

Succulent Garden

 

Stampin' Up!  puts together some beautiful suites to make it easy for you to design cards, scrapbook pages and home decor.  The Oh So Succulent Garden Suite is one of my favorite.  You can create die-cut succulents, flowers, and accents in seconds with Succulent Framelits Dies and the Big Shot.  With a mix of open images and detailed images, this 17-piece set can cut detailed die-cuts or frame stamped images. Detailed die includes ejection holes so you can remove the paper easily.

I had fun getting together with some members of my team and we spent a morning playing with the dies.  Above are some projects I made using card stock and the Succulent Framelits Dies.

Tiny Botanical Treat Box

Are you like me and love giving people little surprises?  This is a cute little box we made at last month's stamp camps and it is perfect to fill with some chocolate and give to your co-workers when you find out it is their birthday!  Or maybe they just need a little lift because they are having a bad day.  You can even add a small gift card to go along with the little box.  It's so easy to make and uses the Tiny Treat Boxes from Stampin' Up!

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut a 12” x 1” strip of Cucumber Crush polka dot paper from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack and wrap around a Tiny Treat Box, adhering with Tear &Tape Adhesive.  Put box together.

2. Cut out flowers and leaves from Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and Cucumber Crush card stock using the Botanical Builder Framelits.

3. Color a large Pearl using a yellow Sharpie marker. Add to center of flowers. Adhere flowers and leaves to top of box.

Wedding Screen Card

With spring just around the corner I'm sure there will be a wedding invitation or two in your future.  That's why today's featured card is perfect for a wedding anytime!  This one takes a little extra time to make but the finished product is well worth the effort.  If you would like to purchase any of the items used to make this pretty card, just visit my Stampin' Up! INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score a piece of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”  Very Vanilla card stock at 2-1/8, 4-1/4” and 6-1/8.”   Scored card will be landscape and have 4 “frames.”   
2. With either the Curly Label or Artisan Lable Punch, punch the bottom of each frame of the card.
3. Cut out 4 pieces of 4-1/2” x 1-7/8” Crumb Cake card stock and adhere to each “frame” of card.
4. Cut out 4 pieces of 4-1/4” x 1-3/4” Very Vanilla card stock. Using Crumb Cake ink, tamp 3 of the  pieces with a different images from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.   Stamp the 4th piece with the may today be the start of a long and happy life together from the For the New Two stamp set.  Adhere each piece to the Crumb Cake card stock.
5. Stamp a piece of 3-1/2” x 1-3/4” Very Vanilla card stock with the For The New Two from the same stamp set. Adhere a piece of 3-1/2” x 1-3/4” Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack over the top of the stamped piece.  Adhere to a piece of 3-3/4 x 2” Crumb Cake card stock.  Add a piece of gold  ribbon.  This will be the tag for the front of the card.
6. Add half a piece of Tea Lace Paper Doily to the front panel of card. Adhere the For The New Two tag to the front panel.
