Video: Color Embossed Line Technique

Technique Classes are one of my favorite classes to teach.  I try to keep the classes small so I can give lots of one-on-one attention to each of my class attendees.  For my August class I taught the Color Embossed Line Technique.  While originally this technique called for watercolor pencils, I have found the Stampin' Blends work beautifully and give it a more vibrant color.  I have put together a video -- be kind, I'm new to this form of media -- and hope after watching it you will try this technique.

New Mini Curvy Keepsake Box Dies

A few years ago Stampin' Up! offered us the Curvy Keepsake Die (now retired) to make some cute little boxes.  Now they have the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box Dies so you will be able to create a custom die-cut keepsakes box and more.   These dies will help you create unique die cuts with just a quick run through your die-cutting and embossing machine. Tutorial: Lip Balm or Treat Purse

 

I've had several people ask me this week for the instructions to make the lip balm or treat purses I posted earlier.  They really are very easy to make once you figure out the scoring and folding.  Sometimes I learn by just looking at something and other times I learn by watching a video.  This was one of those times when it was better for me to watch a video to understand how to make the folds correctly.  Demonstrator Tanya Boser  has a great video showing exactly how to make these darling little purses. 

 

INSTRUCTIONS  

Body of Purse

Cut a piece of  Designer Series Paper  to measure 6” x 6”

Score at 1-1/4” and 4-3/4”

Turn Paper around and score at 2-1/2”  and 3-1/2”

Crease along score lines gently

Find center points and  crease to end on all 4 sides

Add adhesive to 4 corners.

 

Decorating Purse

Cut two 1/2” x 3-1/2” strips coordinating card stock

Cut two 6” strips of ribbon.

*On one side of purse, add adhesive to ends and place ribbon for handle and line up strips of cardstock.  Repeat * on other end.

Create a closure with the Circle Tab Punch.  Adhere using Tomo Loops Velcro
